You probably have already made up your mind about putting your kid in daycare, not because it will be beneficial to him/her but instead because it will be convenient for you to drop off your lil burden for the day so that you can pursue your personal matters without interruption.

And that is exactly the reason why all the other moms you talked to have recommended daycare. Convenience for mom.

Keep in mind that all those other moms are biased in favor of daycare, and so obviously their opinions are delusional. They tell you daycare is great for the kids, but the true reason they like daycare so much is because they just don't want to be bothered raising their own kids.

One of the things you need to think about is that working at a daycare is an unskilled, deadend job with no benefits and little pay, and that attracts deadend employees.

You need to think about that and be honest with yourself. Who cares more about your children, you? Or some part-time employee that makes minimum wage?

Most of the women who work in daycare in this area are white trash rejects that fell back on the daycare industry because they weren't good at anything else.

They bombed out of Community College because they were too lazy/stupid to get a 2-year Nursing Assistant degree.

Or they are on probation for pills, nobody would hire them, so they started their own daycare company running it out of their backyard.

You also need to think about the kinds of kids who will be running around these daycares.

Children from the lowest income households in this area.

Children whose parents don't care. That's why most of these kids are abandoned all day at daycare in the first place, the parents don't care. These kids are troubled and aggressive because they haven't learned any discipline or values at home.

Just because you are paying an expensive enrollment fee, that does not necessarily guarantee that the daycare will be providing a quality service. Most of the time daycare is just like public school only worse.

So since Im choosing to place my baby in daycare to work vs. living off of the government Im a terrible person?? My miracle is my life, thus why I work; so they will have what they need! Before you judge find out the facts! I love being a mother trust me if i had a silver spoon from birth i would stay home. Also, there is nothing wrong with a person working part time or full time its better than no time!

Like I said at the beginning, you probably already made up your mind and don't want to hear anything that goes against what you've already decided.

It's good that you make a decision and stick with it. But then you shouldn't come here asking for opinions.

Carl Edwards you should be ashamed at yourself ! First of all not all day cares are like that . Some people send their kids there so they can work. Some send them there to achieve some maturity before they start school.

Well carl edwards you sir are an ass. I have to put my child in daycare. Not because I want someone else to raise my child but so I don't have to be on food stamps to feed her. I work my ass off at 2 jobs then come work my ass off at home. Are you suggesting I just quit trying to be a productive person and lay around collecting government assistance. Or would you like to pay me to stay home and enjoy my child everyday. If so please send me a check!!! Id love to stay home all day and make pintrest crafts instead of work for a living to buy things my baby needs.

Mr.Carl Edwards you are a shame! do not judge people who work in daycares! many of them actually do have associates and believe it or not bachelor degrees as well. they work there because they love kids! I have seen first hand that these teachers love their kids. How would you like it if somebody cast that kind of judgement on you? Parents work and many of them do not have family to watch their kids. SHAME ON YOU!
