Greeneville is ok if you are already dead or near to it . There isn't a lot for young adult people to do .

It sucks here if your need a job and are not from Greeneville. If you are thinking about moving here, line up some work before you make the move.
If you are from east TN you will do ok. If not, you will not like it much.

At risk of being negative (lol), I would not suggest moving here unless you have a very good job & maybe family nearby. I've lived here many years but this place has put a strain on my personal relationship along with many others I know because of the lacking things to do. Many times spouses can't find suitable jobs & there aren't many social opps depending on your age & lifestyle. I think the Tusculum area is probably the nicest overall maintained & the services you get without paying both City & County taxes. It's also closer to Johnson City & the by-pass than many areas in the County.

it is an unhappy place. the citizenry, for the most part, are narrow minded, clanish, unfriendly, dishonest, and insincere religeous zealots. the "good ole boy" system is in full force here and most things decided by old money. the law is corrupt as is the politics. overall my opinion is not a good onebut you form your own. i would be interested in hearing it once it is formed.

It is what you make of it...like anywhere else. If you're accustomed to living in a major city, it can take some getting used to mostly because you no longer have the convenience of having any and everything you want close at hand. Not much in the way of entertainment or dining options either but a short drive in any direction will take you to some decent venues.

This is the most fair assessment that I have read. Thank you for a straight answer.

Is Patriotville near Parrotsville? God put Newport on the map to give Greeneville a place to look down on.
