this coach threw two of his players off of the team not for grades, drugs or being a unruley student. these two players were selected to play in the FCA state football game against Virginia ,both students have excelled in and out of school and represent the school with great pride and character these young men were punished for being the kind of gentleman that he should be maybe the coach should be replaced with someone who understands what this game ment. good job boys you have our respect and will do great in college

The WG coach is horrible and should not be allowed near children/young adults. Both last year and this year I have heard him throwing the F bombs and GD's around very loosely and my children do not go to WG. I am offended by the character that he demonstrates to those boys and what language he is presenting as a role model as socially acceptable. He is very hot headed, Dirty mouthed, and should be relieved of his position. I know nothing of which what your post is about; however, giving the "coach" I have seen him be - I don't doubt that the principal needs to re evaluate the situation. Knowing the character of the WG principal I hope she soon realizes what a horrible image he is putting in the entire school/organization.

I can not for the life of me understand a Coach that is supposed to support and have his student/players best interest at heart. These boys are on their way to the next level to play football. This was a great opportunity for these boys. Both boys are outstanding students and athletes. This Coach has a BAD attitude all the way around. It's a shame that this is these boys senior year and they will always remember this. West Greene has not won a single game in basketball. I'm sure these boys missing a wk of basketball would not hurt anything.

Who is the coach at WGHS? Have you ever went across the principal's head to the Greene Co Board of Education? It might not do any good, but it's worth a try.

Why not send them to play for the South Greene Lady
Rebels. From what I read on here, they could sure use the help.

Y'all forgot to mention that the team that one of these boys was honorably picked for mopped the floor with the opposing team. They never even scored. Coach should be proud instead of handing out discipline. Could this be a jealousy/envy issue? Coach trying to relive his childhood thru his players?

I hope the principal has been contacted by parents of WG young adults. I strongly feel as if she would be handling the situation as opposed to losing sponsorships and community involvement with the school(s)

i dont know what the coach does/does not do. but i am aware that the TSSAA states in the rule book that the kids can only be on "one" league/team.

If the kids chose to go play football then WGHS would have been fined and lost any games that they might have won while the kids were playing fotball.

Think back to when SGHS had this issue a couple years ago with a couple girls playing in the church league and all the fuss that the TSSAA stirred up.

Why not get rid of all sports, then maybe the parent and kids won't have anything to grip about.

Post season all-star games do not apply to that rule. Some of the games take place well after the basketball season has started. Unless a football team makes it deep into the playoffs most players are already playing basketball before the rosters are even named.

Yeah I'm sure that's the answer??? Have u not looked at the obesity rates or lack of things for children & young adults in this town. Without sports what would they be doing in their time out of school?? U clearly don't have children. Sports is all a lot of these kids have.

Cursing out loud in front of children is a sign of lack of control or blatant stupidity.

This coach apparently is a disgrace. I'm not directly involved but I do have 2 children upcoming to W.G.H.S. If either one of my kids gets the honor these boys have I hope they are not punished for it.

I'm glad the coaches at my kids school don't behave or speak in such a nonprofessional manner. LEADERSHIP is a role that not everybody can handle. Here's the thing, if the WGHS coach can not contain his anxiety and or anger and words would that not be considered dangerous to the children? Anger is a temporary form of insanity on a certain level. Jumping up and down screaming and cursing is not to low on the charts. Should this man not be reevaluated in his abilities and possibly reassigned another job inside the school system after his mental state is ascertained? Remember, the well being and PROPER education of the children is priority #1. Good day.

Agreed - the children are the number one priority. Especially since the going off like he does has led the boys to 0 wins this season. If I were any one of the boys I wouldn't want to play for him and that may very well be what is happening.
