Now you're pissing me off. The point I was making is the only reason I got an obstructing traffic ticket was because I was a kid on the blvd. when the big rigs stop in the middle of the road, get out asking for directions or the UPS & FedEx trucks block thr rd, nothing said about it. Obstructing traffic is obstructing traffic, whether it's work related or pleasure related.
And $80 for 3 secs? Come on, he could have gave a warning, but no he wanted that money and was an ass about it also.$80 bucks to a 16 year old kid in the 80's was a lot of money. I wasn't one of the little rich kids that their parents payed for everything. Had to flip burgers for 2 weeks to pay that ticket.
But all good in the end, I came out better in the deal, that's why I love Karma. People call her a bitch, but I think she's a pretty cool person.
I actually had forgotten that you wrote that. It popped in my head I guess cause I had read it earlier. I I was trying to go after you I would have only listed what you had said. No harm intended.

I'm sure some were but the can't make money off of it until people violate it. A lot of times people's egos have a direct line to their wallet. Rather just accepting that there are some things they cannot do (speed, excessively dark window tint, excessively loud stereos, etc) their ego tells them to push it as far as they can. Then they end up with a ticket. But rather than admit that they were wrong they come up with things like "it was only 8 miles per hour over the limit" or "I only stopped in the middle of the road for 3 seconds".
I was tickted for stuff I didnt do a time or two, some tickets I got were for what they perceved as wrong because of who I was(a young kid)and where I was at(cruisin).I got tickets for no back bumper, the truck came that way new.I could drive anywhere,K-ville,JC,Pigeon Forge, ect and even during the day in Gville and never had a problem, but let cruisin time come around an then it was a problem.Durng the last days of cruisin the rule was u couldnt pass a point more than three times in an hour. Some parents who supported cruisin spent all night cruisin one Sat night and never got ticketed.I think most parents were like mine and thought it was a waste of time and the kids should be at home.If more parents had supported cruisin it would not have been so easily stopped.

Oh I remember them days. When I cruised I think they was only maybe 5 cops. You had Beth Dykes, Bobby Blue, Don Jones, maybe Stewart Kilgore and seem like another, been so long. I don't think they gave many tickets at all, later on they started with the loud stereos cause people lived around started complaining. Even if they did write you a ticket they were pretty cool about it. Beth sometimes would be a little...let's say rude. Stewart he could be a little rude also. Bobby and Don were good guys, atleast if they wrote you a ticket they would have you laughing about it.

Then new guys started coming in, Tim Ward he was a good guy, maybe a couple more. If anybody can remember might fill in my blanks.

Then Mike Crum hit the Blvd and this was the time they was wanting to stop cruising. You could not drive down the Blvd and he didn't have somebody pulled over writing tickets. It was kinda like driving down the 11E now. He went from car to car and was not a nice person at all. He acted like he hated the world. I bet he made GPD $50,000 in 3 months times. Ofcourse I guess that's what they hired him to do?

And that pretty much killed cruising and anything fun to do in this town for teens.

If the kids today could go back to say 86 to 91 I guess, they wouldn't believe what cruising was. It was packed from Ford Motor Company to Hardees near Greeneville High School. Both sides of the road, you would only move inches at a time and could talk to everybody as you went along. To me it was the most fun I've had in my life, still to this day. I guess being a teen and experiencing new things made it so great also.

Oh and this was just all my opinion and I could be mistaken on some of it due to old age. Don't want them hunting me down, I'd like to live a little longer please.:)

Yeah,
The police need to be doing their job, not just setting in a cruiser waiting for hours to find a reason to pull someone over, there are almost 4000 active warrants at GCSD why dont they go pick up those people??????????
and also the dtf is really trashy too because i called in to report traffic from a couple selling right across from my house downtown! and nothing was never done! called 4x times!!! right now there is 5 vehicles in their driveway! i believe her name is Melissa Hodge and Frankie Hodge? she is a registered sex offender!!!!!! Stop the dang drugsssssssss!

You don't have to lock your doors because of me, but with all these thieves around, you might ought to triple check them.

It's a sad society we live in that people have such little regard for other people's things that they feel that they can just help themselves.

Are you serious about 4000 active warrants? Why don't they just go pick them up? I don't it would be that hard to find these people. Why don't they put a site up with names and pictures of the wanted people? I'm sure people would call in and tell them where there at.

It is a patrolmans job to write tickets and enforce traffic laws. It is hard to sneak up on someone with blue lights and police written on the side of the vehicle. The state legislature writes the laws not the police. Then there is case law. So many people think that it' simple but it is not. It easy to look from the outside in and judge.

Yes i am being dead serious that is what Chuck Humpherys told me one day i was talking to him. They need to go find those people instead of wasting our tax money. WE PAY FOR THEIR GAS, CARS , GUNS and everything.
