She was hit by two different vehicles? I am quite sorry for her loss of life but ok, she was hit by some lady's passenger mirror and then a few minutes later, while she was standing in the road another car swerved to miss her and the next (a moment later) hit her... she was wearing dark clothing and standing in the middle of Tusculum Blvd... at night...

That's the way people drive around here.

A female pedestrian was killed in a bizarre traffic accident Sunday night on Tusculum Boulevard in front of Laughlin Hospital.

According to the accident report, Donna Davis Henderson, age 41, Sioux Trail, died after being struck by the second of two vehicles that hit her within minutes of each other.

Henderson was reportedly walking near the side of the northbound lane of Tusculum Boulevard when she was struck in the left arm by the passenger mirror on a car driven by Barbara Marie Crum, Roaming Drive. Crum said she did not see Henderson, but after hearing the impact, she stopped and turned around and returned to find Henderson standing in the road. Crum said that Henderson told her that she had been hit by Crum's car. Crum called 9-1-1 and said she told Henderson she should move to the side of the road. Crum said that while they were talking, one car drove past them and around the scene, but a second vehicle, a pickup driven by Dennis Gerald Chapman, of Robinhood Road, was unable to see Henderson and struck her.
Officer Nick Fillers noted in his report that it was raining at the time of the accident, and one of the witnesses stated that Henderson was wearing dark colored clothing.

How they DRIVE around here? How about how they stand in the road on a dark, rainy night in dark clothing after already being hit by one car? Not implying for a moment that she deserved it, but none of the drivers were charged, meaning that it was not the DRIVING that caused the accident. It is a sad situation for all involved.

If you stand in the roadway you're goo et killed, especially in this area. People wouldn't dare slow down.

Why should they have to slow down? Don't stand in the middle of the road, and you are very unlikely to get ran over. How many people have you ever heard of getting ran down say while walking around a track at a school, in the woods, or even on a sidewalk around here? I'm going to guess none. It's not the driver's responsibility to make sure that the moron walking in the middle of the road in the rain at night in dark clothing doesn't get ran over, it is the moron's responsibility.

Where are the sidewalks besides downtown? I'd do a lot more walking if there were sidewalks in this town.
