I thought that this thread was about singers. Bob Dylan was a great lyricist and poet, but Bob Dylan is not and never was a good singer. Great voices of his era were Burton Cummings(The Guess Who), Johnny Maestro(The Brooklyn Bridge), Jay Black(Jay and the Americans), Gary Puckett(Union Gap), Bobby Hatfield(The Righteous Brothers), and Roy Orbison. There are others who I have forgotten, but go to youtube and listen to real singers from Bob Dylan's time.

I have... he has the voice of an angel... a hoarse, stoned angel...

Dylans voice isn't for everyone, but I love it...

I like a lot of Dylan's songs, especially the early stuff. I am old enough to remember when "Like a Rollin' Stone" came out . I really liked that song and it seems like "Positively 4th Street"(my favorite)was soon after, as was "Subterranean Homesick Blues."

I like his "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." Dylan's voice really fits his songs. Those aren't for Pavarotti to sing. He isn't a great singer, but he is an icon, just like Willie Nelson and Neil Young.

If you want to hear a singer, listen to "Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge" and "Blessed is the Rain" or "The Worst That Could Happen." Also "This Magic Moment" or "Cara Mia" by Jay Black of Jay and the Americans. He can still sing. Johnny Maestro is dead.
