The following was appended to Article XI, Section 13 of the Constitution of the State of Tennessee.
The citizens of this state shall have the personal right to hunt and fish, subject to reasonable regulations and restrictions prescribed by law. The recognition of this right does not abrogate any private or public property rights, nor does it limit the state's power to regulate commercial activity. Traditional manners and means may be used to take non-threatened species.
This was an amendment, not an Amendment. It was a change or clarification to an existing article, not a new and separate article. It passed overwhelmingly, but the fact is that it changes the word 'right' to a term that represents a permission or privilege. This may be missed by those who didn't study their English homework, but if you don't understand the language, you can't understand what is being said.
Citizen X, this amendment certainly allows the government greater control and the people less authority. Your concerns are very well founded, and real.
dummy: it is an amendment to the State Constitution if ratified by the people of TN. It protects our hunting rights from far left dem/libs groups from coming in and filing suit against our hunting rights. Has to have a 2/3 majority to b overturned. Beside, we already have hunting regulations and laws that could simply be changed by whoever is in power. VOTE YES>dummies

Yes, good work btw! The "right" has now been brought within the purview of State statutory (by state legislation) and State regulatory subjection. This is what all of us were afraid of at the inception of this initiative. The enemies of freedom are many. Thanks for your remarkable efforts!
I had rather put my hunting rights in the hands of the Repubs in office now than have anything to do with those dem/libs that would take them away.

I think I said something to the effect that people that were unfamiliar with subtle uses of the English language might have trouble with this.

First of all, an AR-15 in .223 is an EXCELLENT weapon for hunting coyote, fox, etc.
Secondly - and more importantly - the 2nd Amendment mentions nothing about the individual's right to bear arms being predicated upon using those arms for hunting.
Ok first off dumb ass why in the world would you want to take an AR-15 hunting at all there is no reason anyone should be able to take a gun like that hunting if you cant kill something the 1st, or 2nd shot you need to quit hunting. Im all for the 2nd Amd. I have all kinds of gun and I carry a gun everywhere I go cause I have my hand gun premit. But no one in this county need to be carring a AR-15 hunting. And I dont think just any Tom,Dick, and Harry should be able to buy one because you dont need one to keep you safe in your house either a shotgun, rifle , or hand gun can do that.

Be careful who you are calling a dumb azz you little biotch. You aren't the final authority on what anyone else needs. I personally don't believe anyone as ignorant as you should be given a gun permit but you have one. Mind your own damn business and stop worrying about what NUH needs or don't need.

That's all...

I take it that you dont spend much time in the wilderness, do you?

More than once I have been treed by packs of the wild dogs that live in the wilderness. There might be a dozen or more of them come a booming down on ye out of nowhere. And unless you can either...

A...get up a tree and be prepared to wait them out until they leave (however long that is). Or...

B...be able to deal with them by shooting them all (however many of them there are)

Unless you can do either of these two, survival in that situation is unlikely.

Here is a clue for ye. The reason that humans invent better and better guns is so we can survive better because of them being better.

I think it is rather foolish when non-hunters go around spouting off their mouths by telling hunters what we need.

Like someone who knows nothing about cars trying to tell a mechanic what they need in order to fix cars.

Here is another clue for ye. North America aint Europe.

Europe has been hunted out and tamed since Roman times, but North America hasnt. If it were not for millions of civilian hunters going out and shooting millions of animals every year, we couldnt live in North America at all.

The animals would overpopulate.

They would eat every bit of our agricultural product up in the fields, so that our people (and the European socialist nations as well) would all starve out.

We wouldnt be able to drive cars on our roads for the animal collisions.

Diseases would spread. Sub-urbs would be inundated with wildlife (including the kind that eat the non-hunting, goody too shoe liberals).

So, America is setting on a precipice. If the gun grabber nutcases ever get guns taken away from hunters, like they are trying to, then our society would very quickly be done away with by the animals.

BTW, last year, 25% of all auto accidents were caused by cell phones. Are we to ban cell phones now?

The cell phones are killing far more people than AR-15s.

First of all, what I carry hunting, as long as it's legal, is no one's business! Secondly I don't try to tell you what to do with your sex toys, just because I don't need one!

Now you sound like JOE (VP)Shotgun indeed is a good weapon. A.223 is a 22 cal. and it like its little brother .17 cal is a center fired bullet. It is legal for hunting in TN. It has been proven that it will kill as well as other heavier calipers although maybe not immediately. But then again, neither does a bow and arrow kill immediately. Like the child that held up a replica (22 ca.) of the AR-15---they went bonkers. Just don't understand this at all. If someone wants to carry a AR/15 hunting, it is fine with me, It is their right.

"... the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

If there are "arms" that are illegal, how is that not an infringement?

Typical leftist troll attack.

The leftist cannot win a debate based on truth, logic, or reason.

So they send the trolls out to sling a profanity- laced one liner in our direction, and then scamper away without making a point.

No wonder America is turning away from their twisted ideology and swinging away from their lame, faked emotionalism, knee jerk arguments. They have nothing to say that will stand up to the test of reason.

that's odd, I don't remember ever seeing any articles in the news about wild dogs killing anyone & a shotgun is far more affective for hitting something attacking you, rifles are for long range & if its that far away it is not attacking you anyway
