If they played in Greeneville they could not charge you to park in a field.
FYI The field is privately owned, not owned by WGHS. So if the owner chooses to charge how is that to be blamed on WGHS. So people can park on campus or elsewhere. I remember when GHS parking was terrible & not to many years ago. Im sure all schools would love to have better facilities including parking. The funds are not always available, but they will take monetary donations im sure.

Joe Case is a an embarrassment to his school. He should be fired. My kid would not be allowed to play for such a pitiful excuse of a role model. The West Greene administration needs to do something immediately. Absolutely embarrassing if this goes unpunished
We do not know the behind the scene actions or the smack talk leading up to & in the game. My personnel opinion is that it is the coach's responsibility to not allow politically correct bully disrespect to players, other coaches & the school. This is definitely not first time this has happened. I have personnelly seen other schools in Greene County do the same or worse. It seems when the coach is winning we accept negative behavior, but we accept it if thw win column is filled.

The field is privately owned. WGHS does not charge to park. They do not own the field

Oh yes, what he did was so much better. Ask anybody at the game how they felt about what Case did. If you cannot admit that his behavior was way out of line then maybe you need to look at your situation. Political bully? Give me a break. Call it what it is. A grown man acting like a coward. Nothing else

This is how misunderstandings happen. Please read what I said. I said politically correct bullying not political bully, as you quoted me. I will clarify what politically correct bullying means.
That a person can say almost anything to anyone if they say it correctly. I can admit that people do not always handle things the way that is what we deem correct, but people make decisions based on circumstances that arise during that period of time. I was at the game and heard no negative comments. I consider an action that is way out of line to be an action such as fighting. Have you ever turned and walked away to avoid further negativity? What was your reason? I do think a lot of negative actions can be handled in a different way, but people do what may seem to be the best choice when they are in the midst of the moment.

Ofcourse you didn't hear any negative comments because your son plays and you will always be a supporter and proud of how they acted. What they did was wrong. It was a disgrace to their school that YOU graduated from. Oh and the bullying, come on really? What about the football that GHS kicked over the field house that one of the WGHS Alumni kept and would not give back. That is why GHS started going for two points until going the other way. Be a supporter but don't approve of your child not shaking the hands of another player after a game. My children play high school sports and if they did that, they would never see the field or the court again!

I see no reason for these two teams to even be playing each other. Other than to pad GHS' win totals. I know I hated playing GHS in basketball every year cause they had some of the dirtiest players in the county.

No I am saying that everyone and their mothers know that the talent levels between GHS and the rest of the county schools are different. Only two things that these match-ups do 1) pad GHS' win records and 2) embarrass the other teams. But I AM also saying that when I myself played GHS in basketball they were dirty ball players. Threw elbows, hard fouls, anything they could get away with.

This is funny because Case use to coach at ghs. Or did you forget that.. seems they let him go because he was dating a student then married her after she graduated. They were even honest and told about it because she was 18 at the time.

There is a difference of beating a team or humiliating one. There is a difference of having talent and not. Not taking anything away from ghs but they can be a bully school. It has happened before I'm other sports. But matter how bad you get beat.. Not humiliated there should be sportsman ship. If a team is humiliated then I can see how they would feel. There are always going to be bullies in this world.. We just have to learn to stand for what we believe in... any comments?
look we had 2nd and 3rd string out on the field so if your buffs can't stop 2nd and 3rd string well that's to bad. we will not tell the freshman and sophmores to lay down and not play WHATEVER!!! The only reason your team needs to be humiliated is from the lack of leadership they have in a coach !!!! is this you GREENLEE IT SURE SOUNDS LIKE YOU WHINNING!!

Lol no far from being him.. Made me laugh with that comment. I agree if you have 2nd and 3rd string in and they can't beat them then there is a lack of talent somewhere but to have sportsman ship wouldn't you want your team to do their best no matter what. If you get beat by a team that is better and you give 110% then quit whinning.. if you play like crap and got beat it is your own fault. There are always going to be winners and losers.

Hey I am with you there.. When I coached no matter how bad we got beat my players shook hands. I told them if they didn't like to lose them they needed to fix it in practice. I believe I'm sportsmanship sorry to say times are changing.. we get mad if the coach doesn't pick our kids but we don't always support them either. Don't know why case did what he did.. But he will hear from it both ways.

Your team is only as good as the people teaching them the game. I played sports in school , when my parents overheard my coach tell me to take a player out , no matter how I had to do it .... I never played again. Times have changed.. Yes! That's why the community and the parents need to get behind this schools, and be part of a change! Like Greeneville teachers , parents , and community does. You might not like what I just said... But the truth is hard to take sometimes. Fact is ... Case was wrong in what he did... And he can't hit the rewind button and redo it.

I knew he coached there but I didn't know why he left. He was up at Ghs a lot this summer trying to squeeze his way back in but as you can tell they didn't even give him an interview.

very true and great post. We take a lot of pride in GHS and our kids do to. The kids are not perfect for sure, but they will have support from the community and their coaching staff! They will not act with disrespect, bad sportsmanship or lack of character. The coach, who is a friend of mine, should apologize to GHS, his team, school staff and then the team parents of WG. I hope the parents would be his biggest punishment.

thank you . But I don't think the parents will be his punishment... Children act as they are taught.... Do they not? I know last year when Greeneville had trouble with their players , that sat them on the sidelines and toke captain roles from them. I was very impressed. But do you think they will sit case on the sidelines or just sweep it under the rug? I feel so bad for how your team was done... And I don't even have a child that playes football.

Not too long ago, GHS students were about as bad as it got. Plenty of good students, do not get me wrong. But, when you take into consideration how disrespectful they were to county kids in general, I didn't want to be around them. Maybe things have changed in the span of a decade or so, but I doubt it. Parents need to be more concerned with academics and leave sports as a fun release for kids. Who do these games entertain the most? The parents and adults is what it seems like.

This is why Japan rolls out beyond average students constantly. Give yourselves a pat on the back for creating an environment that allows for sports to consume the minds of our children.
