Well.. you missed The Iris Festival, and you missed the county fair. Better luck next year! You could always go visit Dollywood or just shop around there.

The funnest thing ever is to go to church and worship me. We have over 500 churches to choose from in northeast Tennessee, you could go to ten different back-to-back church services every day.

The only good people in the world are Christians who worship me. If you do not worship me, you will burn in hell with the homosexuals and muslims. I love you.

Lots of hiking trails in the nearby national forest, if you're into that kinda activity.

Visit the Nathaniel Greene Museum and the Andrew Johnson historical stuff, which is pretty cool.

Get your kids involved in pee-wee or little league ball, where you can scream at the refs/umps during games, scream at other kids too and get into a fight with other parents, until your kids are embarrassed of you....it's awesome! lol

Go to Wal-Mart, let your kids run wild...they love it.

Ok, it's pretty boring here.

These posts would be funny if they weren't true. Sorry family guy, but you have moved to a community where there is truly nothing to do. The really cool people are at the lake (not in Greeneville) this weekend, but alas like everything else, the lake has a season and it ends on Monday.
If you wait until October you can drive the 30+ minutes to Erwin in the neighboring county for their Apple Festival. Our family normally picnics along Paint Creek, but the recent floods have closed the corridor. It most likely won't re-open for at least a year.
You could spend your weekend like I do, surfing the web for web cams of tropical places I would rather be.

Greeneville is full of stuff to do.

If you like history there is lots of history around here. Andrew Johnson Museum and houses are really cool. Nathaniel Greene Museum is an endless source of historical info. There is the President's walk downtown, Doak House and the Dickson Mansion. Davey Crocket's birthplace. Graveyards...National Cemetery downtown, the Pottertown Civil War Cemetery and many little cemeteries tucked up in the mountains dating to before the Civil War. Let's not forget the Bridge Burners and the Laurel River Massacre.

Railroads and lumber have left miles of hiking and biking trails in the mountains. Google the Peavine Railroad. There is an iron furnace left at Clark's Creek. A Ghost town at Laurel Creek and the French Broad. There is a chunk of the old rail way at paint creek as well as rail cars left at Holley Creek and Laurel Creek. Don't look for the Glass Furnace. It is on private land.

Greeneville is an outdoorsman paradise. Hunting fishing, rafting, kayaking, road cycling, some of the best mountain biking around and hiking. The mountain biking includes everything from primitive down hills to machine cut trails and paved roads. Hiking includes the Appalachian Trail Laurel creek is a stage 5 rapid and you can paddle board the Frenchbroad or tube the Nolachuckey.

The list goes on and on....
