But i kingsport, I made 15 an hour fresh out of school, next job paid $20 per hr through gentiva and then through pro care doing vent case made $24 per hr.

I'd say the wages aren't really that different between here & kpt.

Johnson City King sport , Knoxville, pays LPNs 22 a hour. Thechers make more. If you go across any of the state lines the pay doubles and especailly for teachers who do fill in work.

Well that all depends on where you work. Nursing homes pay the best at usually 16-18 an hr, of course that's with experience. Starting pay for a new LPN is usually around 14. Hospitals and MD offices pay the least. Now the places you DONT want to work at like Greene County Skills, Comcare, places like that. Very poor pay and no respect for their nurses. Sunrise pays pretty good I've been told at 16. Regardless, nurses are underpaid for what they do. They have YOUR life in THEIR hands, and then there are folks who work in factories making much much more money than them, just to push a button on a machine. Doesnt sound quite right does it?

I understand if an lpn works for an individual physician that he can't afford to pay her a lot and take care of insurance & all the overhead. But if you get in with a sizable group of physicians, collectively they can afford to at least pay a comperable salary or wage to what the nursing homes pay.

I was told eventually LPN will not be something that exist in the future. Especially with doctors and hospitals. I assume that is why pay is somewhat lower. To me I would further my education, and push towards becoming a RN. If they make such a low pay I hate to see what a CNA makes in Greeneville.

I've heard the same thing since I was in my early 20's. I'm 43 now. It simply won't happen, can't happen. There are way too many positions where an Lpn's services are needed and doing away with Lpn's isn't a solution for any thing. In some cases, physicians assistants are working for physicians where it used to be an Lpn.
But no, there won't be any doing away with the Lpn's any time in the near future anyway.

But you are correct, finishing out the bridge program (1 year) Lpn to RN would be worth the time and money. Otherwise, you will always be overworked, understaffed, underappreciated and CERTAINLY underpaid.

I worked at Laughlin health care for two years starting in 2008 I made 8.50 an hour, and done more than lpns and cnas, most of which dont appreciate cnas unless they have been one. I think everyone should start at the bottom and work their way up, so they know exactly how to take care of the patient responsibly. But the pay is awful!!!
