Our mailman is not worth a damn. He leaves the wrong mail in my box about half of the time and I have to walk down the road and place it in the correct boxes.

Maybe your carrier decided it was time for you to get off your lazy butt and go to the post office yourself. Your stamps pay for delivery, not pick up. The red flags only signal that mail in there, it does not require us to pick it up! If you don't like living in the country, then move to the city. Are you elderly or disabled? Probably not! Probably just too lazy to go to the post office and you want your mail carrier to do your work for you! Mail carriers are the hardest working people in the country and get no respect. Rain, snow and storms, they must work. You're probably just upset because your foodstamps didn't come in the mail.
You really disgust me if you are a postal worker.
You all have a federal job and should be thankful to have one. And yes when we put mail out and the red flag we expect it to be picked up if a mail carrier is right next to the box refusing to open the mail box. Never once have I heard the post office is not required to pick up mail. I have had the same problem and I am also a Federal employee but a Federal officer. My car payment has been late 3 times because of my mail carrier just driving past my red flag, I called and they said no if the red flag is up they need to pick it up since they didn't they have cost me $150.00 in late fees my bank does not do there payment online so not an option. I feel your pain about the disgrace the postal system is displaying and they wonder why they are losing money.

They will tell you the same thing. I have been a carrier for over 30 years now and lazy a-holes like you all are why it is a miserable thankless job. I work harder than 90 percent of the population and get no respect. WE DO YOU A FAVOR WHEN WE PICK UP YOUR MAIL. ONLY DELIVERY IS OUR "JOB". Call USPS and ask if we are required to pick up your mail, they will tell you NO.
Idiots.
Pfft. You idiot. You drive around and put mail in a box. You haven't a clue as to what real hard work is. You get paid way more than the average job that utilizes the same lack of skill and/or intellect, and you get a pension. Go fuck yourself repeatedly with a power drill ya piece of dog shit. Probably want free health care too

That weirdo cannot be a PW430 yrs. Full of shat is what he is. Glad he didn't carry my mail for that amount of time with that attitude, I would have reported him in a heartbeat for crappy service and I am a postal worker. As far as your response re: driving around putting mail in a box, no, it is not that easy. There are more duties involved in delivering the mail than what I choose to elaborate on as you would not understand unless you have made out an application and see it for yourself. I love when a new employee comes through the door with that same mindset and gets a rude education real quick. After a few days the response is always the same..".gosh, I did not realize what goes in to delivering the mail". They develop a different attitude or quit real fast. As far as the pension goes, well, it doesn't. Years ago it was a great system for employee benefits. Been lots of changes made throughout the system and as we all know crap runs downhill. Dunderheads like that fool are what give the USPS a crappy label, please don't judge all workers the same as him. Some of us are proud to serve the public.

You wounder why you get no respect? Maybe it is because you're the a-hole. If there is mail in a mail box and the carrier (who gets paid to deliver mail) walks right past said box and does not pick up the mail then who is lazy?

I checked my mail Monday and the dozen or so Christmas cards I had put in the box to mail days before were still there... The flag was still up and no new mail was in the box. So the mail had not been delivered or picked up since at least Dec. 21. Today as I was leaving for work, I saw the mail carrier deliver my neighbor's mail and ignore the raised flag on my mailbox... which still contains my Christmas cards and outgoing Netflix movies!!:( All have been stamped with first class stamps and are properly addressed. What gives?
As I said, the flag is up, the envelopes are all stamped and my neighbor who has a mailbox RIGHT BESIDE mine is getting their mail picked up and delivered. I have never talked to my carrier and there is no possible way I could have done anything to offend him or her, so that's not it before anybody suggests it. I live on Asheville Hwy. if that makes any difference.
I called the post office but they haven't returned my call.:\ The fact that none of my family or friends got their Christmas cards and gift cards sucks, but now I'm starting to worry about my bills not arriving.... also, no new Netflix movies until the old ones are picked up!:(
Thoughts?
*I recently made 2 complaints with the last week and a half, I was told 'the postman is not required to pick up your mail, if they have to mail to deliver to your box'.... bullshit, right! if I don't have mail for 2 weeks, that means for my bills to be paid, on time, I cannot mail them from home....-_-

What an absolute loser . If you worked for me you'd be fired so d\fast . And if I ran a business that delivered mail , and a customer asked for it to be picked up also ( Not alot of extra work there ) And the employee copped that attitude - Gone so fast .

Some how I just came across this... years later.... and just incase anyone see's this Ill add to all of this that as a Rural carrier since 2005 we are paid to pick up outgoing! Ive been through many mail counts and picking up out going mail is a part of our evaluation! Either that mail carrier is a city carrier (which I have no idea how they are paid) or hes just stubborn and needs to retire!

P.S. we dont just drive around and deliver mail either.... way more to it then that, which is why its hard to replace these 30 year long working carriers, people cant make it through training these days. And we technically dont work for govt, our checks dont come from them! But still that guys wrong about out going.

I wouldnt think that states are all that different from eachother in how we get paid... we are suppose to all have pretty much same rules. Is your mai delivered by city carrier or rural carrier?

Lol if only it was that easy!! Unfortunately after passing 90 days its almost impossible to fire an employee under union. So they sometimes end up with cranky lazy people... whom they wish the could fire!

Your mailman's name is Able. You are confused as usual. Maybe that is why he refuses to pick up your package.

Wu, the reason Mabel won't pick up your package is because you do not have the proper amount of postage on it and with the progression of the postal service the stamps no longer need to be licked to get them to stick to your package, so don't even go there...
