The receptionist is sooooo rude. I told the girls in the vision center where I get my glasses how rude they both were and they said they hear it all the time.

Don't go there! I went there for a check-up. Ended up getting glasses that I didn't need nor could I use. He tried to give me contacts. I demanded a new eye exam only for Dr. Helms to admitt to me that I have 20/20 vision. I was very young and listened to what the Dr. was telling me. I demanded all my money back!! I got my money back for the glasses. Dr. Shelly Shaw is awsome.

Went in over a year ago. Had my exam. Used the contacts they provided at that time until my prescription was filled (through Walmart). When I got my order, I could not see with the contacts. Went back and told him that something wasn't right and he said my eyes had changed! In the time it took for a prescription to be filled? Really? He was very rude, talked down to me, and suggested that maybe I had two contacts in each eye, as if I was too stupid to know to take one set out before putting another in. For the record, I wasn't new to contacts, I'm a college graduate and a mature business professional, so I didn't need to be treated like I was beneath him. Haven't been back since. Walmart should be concerned that he represents their name.

By the way, I'm a woman, so that may have something to do with it. Reading through these posts it seems that men are the ones defending him. I think he has a problem with women.

I went there once; NEVER AGAIN! The receptionist, Tonya, is extremely rude. She belittled and talked down to me and talked to me like a child. My phone was on vibrate and it went off while she was running tests on my eyes. I ignored it and she was like, "Is that your phone? You are supposed to turn it off." Listen bitch I chose to ignore it. Kiss my ass! She's lucky I didn't shove it up her rude ass.

What was I thinking wrote:
This guy is not competent. I went for contacts. One eye was wrong. His solution was to stick my finger in my eye every few minutes to adjust the contact. Said it was the way my eye was shaped. Went to another doc and they just adjusted the prescription and it worked fine, no finger in the eye every few minutes. I will never go back!
I recently went to him because it was a long wait to make an appointment at my usual Optometrist (the one behind sonic). My contacts move all the time and i barely wear them because of that. I ordered by contact lenses and realized that they weren't for astigmatism and that is probably why they don't fit properly. now I'll probably have to schedule another appointment because my prescription isn't for astigmatism and it should be. I don't think I'll go back to him. It's ridiculous that he told you to fix them with your finger when they are supposed to realign on their own and shouldn't really move at all. It's annoying to blink and have to wait for the to adjust so you can see. I never had this problem until I went to him.

All of the staff there acts like that it is a great burden to assist you. The receptionist was dressed like a ho and the so-called Dr. has NO personality whatsoever. I won't go back.

I don't think that man is actually a real Doctor. He just tests and fits you for glasses.

An optometrist is an eye doctor who has earned the Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree. Optometrists examine eyes for both vision and health problems, and correct refractive errors by prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Some optometrists also provide low vision care and vision therapy.
Both optometrists and ophthalmologists examine eyes and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Optometrists also may participate in your pre- and post-operative care if you have eye surgery performed by an ophthalmologist. With a few exceptions, optometrists in the U.S. are not trained or licensed to perform eye surgery.

If that's the WalMart in Greeneville, they need to take a course in Social Skills. Most unfriendly employees I've ever been around.

I went there once and I will NOT go back! He is rude and arrogant . He acts like he is doing you a favor when he checks your eyes and rushes you through. Walmart must be desperate to keep him with his rude personality.
