What do you think about the eye doctor at Wal-Mart?

He's always been nice and professional to me. Been going there for years nice Guy.

He told my Sister, who is legally blind, that, "I can't give you back, what God took away". He said it to her very hateful, and it really made her feel bad.

She wasn't asking him to do that, and didn't deserve to be talked to like that.

How awful! So sorry that happened to her. Nobody deserves to be talked to like that. He is also a pervert and hit on me and others I know (all married) everytime we went to him, which is the reason I stopped going. I'm pretty sure he's married also. If so, I feel really sorry for his wife. I know of quite a few people that have stopped going to him because of his rude demeanor and not feeling comfortable there. I will never step foot in that office again.

He is very professional and good with clients. I've been to him 3 years running and no problems. Onewhoknows knows nothing. Another idiot on Topix....maybe you should move to Tucson with the other lunatic.

I have gone to him since he started there. Always nice and professional. I to am legally blind according to my eye sight. He has helped me wonderfully for years. Always talking about his wife and children. Sounds to me like a good family man working for a living.

I started this thread to find out what other people thought of this man. I have been going to him for years. It seems like the last few years he really has a chip on his shoulder. I'm legally blind also and he made me feel ashamed that my eyes are so bad. He got mad because I couldn't see the letters!!!Then he said it had been a long day. It was on a Friday and he was upset because it had been so busy in his office. I told him I wasn't the one that made the appt for that day. His girl at the front desk had made the appt.I went back to him awhile back and he got my prescription all wrong!!!I tried to tell him when he checked my eyes with the temporary contacts that something wasn't right. He told me it was fine. He send me on my way!!!I cant see in this new prescription. Paid all this money for the eyeglasses and the checkup and contacts!!!For what??? To see worse than before I went and seen him.

This guy is not competent. I went for contacts. One eye was wrong. His solution was to stick my finger in my eye every few minutes to adjust the contact. Said it was the way my eye was shaped. Went to another doc and they just adjusted the prescription and it worked fine, no finger in the eye every few minutes. I will never go back!

I've been to him a few times, and I have the utmost respect for this man. If anyone has a problem with this man....go somewhere else!!!

He did my eye exam- it was totally wrong got it all wrong. My glasses were all screwed up. Then went to Dr Smead. Dr Helms is horrible- don't go there if you expect to be able to see when you leave !!

I went to him last year and his receptionist was HORRIBLE. Wouldn't stay off her phone long enough to do my paper work and I also thought Helm was rude. He told me the contacts that I had worn for years were outdated and I needed to switch to a more expensive brand. They we're horrible and needless to say I went back to the old brand. I don't think his exam lasted 5 minutes and he was not thorough. Everyone in the office was rude. I will NEVER go back!!!

Have you noticed that there have been more complaints than good stuff said about this man. That should tell us all something!!!

Go to Old Stage very professional!! Highly recommend.

i agree both dr helms and his blonde recep are very rude, i will never have him take care of my family's eye careneeds.
