Ignorant is not a word to define me, but you're welcome to keep trying... My guess is you'll never be right, but HEY, since you're so convinced of your own brilliance, have at it buddy. I'm sure if you "follow" me, as posters such as yourself tend to do, you will find that my character doesn't change. Unless, of course, you're own disposition gets in your way.

This is talking about a tradition that is not being carried forth into the future and inquiring minds wondering why... My opinion JUST MAY be one of the reasons why. I am simply giving insight, as is "south greene"... There is absolutely NO ONE OF THIS EARTH whom can suggest that I, OR ANYONE ELSE... will be on the "underside" of anything.
Specifically so... YOU. so, do us all a favor... Think what you want, all you want. But keep your hypocritical comments to yourself. The Bible is full of warnings that our sins will Damn us all to hell.... But only each of us, individually, will know if that's where we are going. My Relationship with MY MAKER is absolutely NONE of your concern... And for as long as I've lived, I have NEVER read, heard nor even imagined that "honoring my father and mother" consisted of placing flowers on a grave in which they are not occupying. This may be your belief... You believe it... You spend your days at a cemetery doing what you think is right... I'll never say a word. But how about you let me live my life and let me worry about if I make it to see MY MAKER... because that's something you will never know, man.
So you're an expert on the afterlife too?

I'm unsure of the reason for your question. Do you care to elaborate?
I didn't think my comment was directed toward afterlife, other than to say where my soul goes is nothing to no one but between me and my God...

LOL! After telling us a lot about your personal life, we can pretty well guess were you're headed. You are a drama Queen.

Thanks for your opinion. It is dually noted. I never knew having an open mind and the ability to speak it loud and proud made one a "drama queen". Hmm. I Learn something new everyday.

Hard to believe that anyone who acts like they already know it all could "learn something new everyday."

There is where you have failed in reading all of my personal life issues that I seem to display for everyone publicly... I have NEVER claimed to "know it all"... Maybe you should investigate my life a little farther, WTH.

I can say without any doubt, if you use excuses for NOT caring for the grave of a loved one, you didn't show them respect when they were alive either. Maybe your children will just pitch your body in a hole. Monkey see, monkey do.

And it wouldn't matter if they did... you will be dead and will not know what is being done to your body...

Can you point me to scripture that says we must be buried in the ground? I have not ever seen scripture to back the decision to decorate a grave... I grew up in Church. My Grandfather was a preacher. I have family and friends that preach now... And you cannot point me to any Word of God that says I have to be buried in the ground OR honor my family after death by tending to their body's resting place... How about you tell me why it's so important to do all of this "honoring" with material garbage when their soul is not there.? Or are you going to argue that, too?

I'm aiming for a plastic coca cola bottle until they can spread my ashes some place... Knowing my two.. I'll either be left in the coke bottle or spread about the barn lot, my ashes trampled into the ground with all the horse dung. Either way... I'll not know or care. Lol

I keep all my dogs ashes.. plan on cremating my husband and if I go first, he can cremate me. I actually find cremation much better than being tossed into the ground. lol Oh, GAPeach.. I think WTH is another stalker for you. lol Probably some jealous female. lol

Lol... I have a lot and I'm not even sure why. I may come off as a b!tch, but I'm just opinionated... And I've always done my best to help others... There is nothing that anyone should be jealous of.. If they want what I have, they need to learn to fight for it and make it happen for themselves. They can't have my life, but they can create their own with a little backbone and a lot of heart...but of course, there will always be some who cannot think/do for themselves and always want what others have... People like WTH just make me want to fight harder for the things in life that I deserve and let them keep hatin'... They'll never change while they're standing in their own way. Lol

I have always buried my pets, but would have much rather cremated. I refused to even entertain the idea of cremation as I was growing up. It wasn't until I matured a little, and my sisters best friend friend chose cremation for herself. That memorial was the easiest and best way to remember what her life was about... Not a shell laying there to give us all a bad recollection. No one looks good dead. And no family should be subjected to it if they don't have or want to be. I want pictures of me smiling, laughing.... Enjoying life alongside my family and friends... And I want my accomplishments to be celebrated and
remembered... Not everyone crying and mourning me... It's all personal preference. And I was totally against it, until my family had to go through it with my sisters best friend. Plus, cremation is cheaper and doesn't place a large financial burden on the family. It helps that my Dad and my man are both in the same boat with the cremation plan, so I don't have to worry about my family having that burden.

I've been reading these post an I can't help but wonder if its just one person or several trying to gang up on GApeach? Either way, she's entitled to her opinion as others are theirs. This is a public forum. Does bashing someone for their beliefs make you a bad ass? When someone is set on their beliefs, bashing them doesn't make them want to have the beliefs you think is right. Makes em become defensive and more set on thier ways. Absent minded
fools, as yourself, wouldnt kno that tho..
MY OPINION is, it makes you look like a self
rightous pos hypocrit. I'm assuming you're a man
too? A christian? A know-it-all? You probably
read your bible drunk and have no clue of the
real meanings behind the scriptures. From your
posts, you probably beat your wife? That's
explains the constant heckling of the female
posters, especially GApeach.
Try this, heckle me billy badass. No better yet.
Drink you another 40, misread your bible again
and jump off the highest bridge you can possibly
find. There will be 100 virgins waiting on you in
heaven if you complete this mission...
Lol... THANK YOU. Although, I'm uncertain of who some of the posters are, I have noticed that a few come from "Jonesborough"... So could possibly be the same person, different names... At any rate, I think you were right when you made your comment to me previously about why they choose me. I'm good with it though, because there's nothing they can throw at me that I can't handle... And I'd rather it be me, someone who has the backbone to stand up to them than someone who may be hurt by the bs.

Again, thank you for having my back... And for all the rest of you that have stood by me, if not for anything else than to support me being... me.

I'm so sorry I started this thread! Personally I remember with fondness the quality family time and hearing stories from my parents about the family members who had passed before that I never knew when we went to the cemetaries. I remember fondly the weeks in advance of decoration when we chose just the right flowers for each person, who liked what kind and what colors. It was a way of keeping those loved ones memories alive when in our daily rush we would forget. I learned much family history on those outings and wouldn't give that up for a million bucks. I have continued to share that tradition with my children and I hope they will with theirs.

You should never be sorry for stating your true opinion. It is your right and the reason Topix exists. Just because others don't share your opinion does not make it less valuable. Your statements might have made someone think differently about this subject. Everyone's point of view should be considered, it is just that Greeneville topix threads seem to degenerate into off-topic, and in some cases nasty comments, faster than others.

Never apologize for how you think or feel! I have family who still carry on with the tradition, and I, too, remember driving HOURS with my grandparents and parents into virginia just to
decorate graves of their parents... I just do not feel the need to. I have been considerate and even asked my loved ones if they thought it was disrespectful, and not one said that they felt like it was. It's a personal commitment and tradition, and you have EVERY RIGHT to do as you please. I hope that I didnt make you feel as if I think you're wrong... Because I stated many times that it's "to each their own".

This topix is not about people who are burned in ovens and thrown in the river, fields, etc. This thread appears to be about the keepers of the graves of the dearly departed. GRAVES - not those who chose to be burned. So please no more about those burning themselves up. Now. What is your feelings on people who don't take care of their family's graves?
