Around 1960-I remember all the new kids from Indiana coming to school. Also when Edgemont and Oak Hills were the place where all the 'rich' kids lived.
No magnavox was in greeneville before 1960. My grandpa was one of the first people hired there and my mother was just a baby then. I believe magnavox expanded and built plant 3 (the newer plant) in the 60's. They were already here manufacturing tv's, just got larger in the 60's.

Yep I worked there and I remember quite a few crazy things. Was at plant 3 in the early 90s. .I know there was a lot of sex that went on in and outside the place..drugs I am sure to and I remember around the holidays some people would bring in punch with a little extra kick in it and buckets of moonshine cherries..they would hook tvs up to watch and people would have big boom boxes jaming out all night why they worked. I was real young when i started there 17 i got on through school...i used to have alot of fun there though...some good laughs...i remember one gross dude used to always pick his nose n he would wipe his boogers on the back of the tvs it was pretty gross..lol think they finally fired the guy.

Yes, you are right. I called my mother to see what year it was and she said '47 also. A good company that provided many good jobs here for many years. I am sad that it is gone.

I can remember Bill "Pee Wee" Osborne, Howard Bowers, and some others talk about having to transport to Fort Wayne. I agree, and some of the stories they told in the 70s, whew, of course I was just a kid then but I got the just of em.
