Mr Chang, I remember that sandwich. It was a German Bologna sandwich left in a PTV by none other than Ronnie Franklin, on Line 10. If you know me, you know that I was and am a die-hard stickler for QUALITY, and that type of thing was simply unacceptable.

Way back Magnavox was a fun place to work I know. My Mamaw has told me some stories. They used to get drunk on the line on Fridays. She'd take her bottle of liquor in. That's been 20-25 years ago, though, I guess. I was a teen at the time she'd tell us about it. There's lots of other stories, but I can't remember them. She could sure tell ya a bunch.
there was no magnavox 25 yr ago

Granted I was only in grade school, but we went to the beach with a truck driver and his wife (whom also worked in parts) every year in July during the 70's. And if im not mistaken this is 2010, which would have been over 30 years ago.
All who worked there correct me if Im wrong?

It was Philips, not Magnavox.

Thanks one more question, didnt the trailer in Smokey and the Bandit have "Magnavox" with the ugly green striping on it? I am not arguing, I am just trying to remember. Seems as if this was in the early 80's as it was a 82 model bandit TA wasnt it?

The trailer in Smokey and the Bandit had a mural on the side, no logo. There was, however, a Magnavox truck in the last lineup of trucks in Convoy.

And I will argue the point. It WAS Magnavox before it was Philips. I had family who worked there for more than 20 years and they left before Philips took over. I also had a neighbor who drove a Magnavox truck for the company. If you think it has always been Philips, you're simply too young to remember!

I started there in 1977 and it was The Magnavox Company of Tennessee.
They changed the name to NAP Consumer Electronics in the early 80's and then to Philips. Everyone stilled called it Magnavox.

Yep it was still Magnavox when I started there, and it was for years after, my father worked there for 40 years and he always called it Magnavox!

Around 1960-I remember all the new kids from Indiana coming to school. Also when Edgemont and Oak Hills were the place where all the 'rich' kids lived.
