You guys should check out ScottBradleeLovesYa's channel on YouTube. They take new and old songs and play them in different styles. like Mariachi, bluegrass, 1930's swing. Good music and incredible the way songs sound played differently. Amazing how the main guy who plays the piano can play also. Check it out.

Definitely check out the new song "Royals" sung by the creepy clown. Ignore that he is dressed as a 7ft creepy clown and listen to his voice. He has other videos on YouTube.

Very cool jazzy version of that song...and that guy does have a great voice. I liked the doo wop version of "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus, as well...that girl also has a fantastic voice :)

Yeah I am subscribed to his channel. There is another one, "Roar" by Katy Perry that is good too. Different woman singing it. Most of these are better than the originals.

I will look them up & listen... I am attaching a link to another song from your era...I watched the movie when I was younger & really liked the theme song...it's a little sappy, but both singers have absolutely beautiful voices :)

Thank you for sharing, and for listening to my old favorites. My favorite new group is Alabama Shakes. Two good songs on youtube are:

1) Alabama Shakes : I Ain't the Same ---at Guitar Center
2) Alabama Shakes : Always Alright----End of the Road Festival 2012

This band has a tremendous lead singer. She sounds at times like a female Otis Redding, Prince, and Janis Joplin. The music is diverse, and the two that I listed are quite different. The last is pure rock & roll. They have a very raw ,earthy sound that I like. Thanks again.
