If the allegations posted here are true, why would anyone allow a man like him near his family? Why would he be allowed in his home? Was the son in question a child or a man? Why couldn't two men, the father and son stop the fight? Were all the men under the influence of drugs and alcohol? Why didn't he go for a non lethal shot? I'm don't know either man, I just wonder why these things happen.

You r right an wrong at the same time. You might think u don't shoot someone in the head but u as a parent do whatever u have 2 do to save the life of ur child. I am a parent of 3 an sam had been 2 my house several times an I would have done it if it had been one of my kids. If u r a parent which I don't know if u r tell me u would not do whatever u needed 2, to protect an save ur child. An for ur fyi he was not just beatin him up he was killin him the boy was turnin blue an had done blacked out.

I agree, and since you know for a fact what happened, can you answer some of my questions? Couldn't a father and son have stopped this man, without shooting him? Did he fire a warning shot? They must have like this man prior to this incident, why did he feel he had to shoot him in the head? None of this makes any sense to me, something is missing in this story.

Second degree murder carries min. 15 years in tn. That will put Brickey at 64 the earliest he'll be out. Point is he might as well be dead too. Was it worth it? I've heard the bad stories about Sam, I've also heard them about Brickey not the same bad stories but bad. Hero? I doubt it, none of us are. I know there are plenty of bad stories out there about me. And some of them are even true. All you judgmental pricks are laughable..
He is a hero to the son he saved an to all of his family an dear friends who know the real him. Regardless of the bad stories that go with either of the 2 of them Sam or Brickey we all have demons an bad storied but Brickey is a hero for standin up for what he thought was right when it came to savin and protectin his home an family with all the comments on here I just can't understand how come no one can say they would not do it 2. I know I would an deep down I know everyone else would if it came down to it. It might not be right 2 take a persons life (I don't think it is right completely) but if that person is tryin to hurt u or ur family an does not care or have concern to human life then why let them take ur life. We can sit here an say lots of things but when it comes down 2 it we can't say what we would or would not do if it would have been us.

In the end of all this talk I know for sure of a few things. I know that Sam's family an friend's r hurtin an I understand that. I also know that Brickey's family an friend's r also in a lot of pain right now. Sam's family lost a son, father, brother, friend, etc. But Brickey's also lost a son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. This is a tragic event that has an will continue to affect a lot of people for a while. Me, my fiance, and my 3 kids included. I hate that Sam is gone an that we will never see him again but I stand behind Brickey an the decision he make cause Sam told me earlier that day he though of comin to my house that night to hang out an I am glad that he didn't an that I did not have 2 make a chose like that. 2 families r hurtin an tryin to deal with what happened an no matter what u all say on here none of it really matters it just causes some of u to look stupid

people are not charged with second degree murder(Second Degree Murder: Definition Second-degree murder is ordinarily defined as: 1) an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable "heat of passion"; or 2) a killing caused by dangerous conduct and the offender's OBVIOUS LACK OF CONCERN FOR HUMAN LIFE.) You would think if he was "protecting his kid" that he would not be charged or a lesser charge of manslaughter.

If u knew really what was goin on I don't care what u say it is. the cops said the DA said that is what they wanted 2 charge him with but that is just the charge from the DA. It was self defence Sam was Brickey's friend he would not have done it if he did not feel he had 2. So ur not close to this so u don't know an Brickey has concern for human life he do anything for anyone even Sam but this time Sam went 2 far

What a shit-hole. When Daniel Boone and Andrew Johnson are all you've got to hang your hat on, your community is over. Sensible people move to civilization and visit the trail on vacation. Sensible people can't stand living around this much human garbage.

So they can get him to take a plea deal. They offer him a deal of whatever degree of manslaughter, which is probably all they can prove. Then the DA can chalk it up as a win, all tied up with a nice little bow. Just my opinion which is worth about two cents, tops.

I would like to know what the fight started over in the first place.
