Sam was constantly causing trouble and regularly beat the shit out of people but he was really a nice guy on the inside. When he wasn't busy beating the shit out of you, he would give you the shirt off his back to help you out of a jam. Because he had a heart as big as all outdoors.

So it is too bad that he is dead, because we need more people like that running around the county. I like it when people like Sam are beating the shit out of everyone in Greeneville. Sounds like an upstanding example of what Greeneville is all about. I wonder why anybody would shoot somebody like Sam, anyway? Just because he was a troublemaker doesn't mean that he was a bad guy.

SEEMS TO ME IF THIS SAMUEL GUY WAS SUCH A GREAT DAD, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN HOME WITH HIS FAMILY INSTEAD OF AT MR.B'S HOUSE AT 1 AM IN THE MORNING! PRAYERS OUT TO BOTH FAMILIES, BUT THOSE WHO WOULD TAKE KNOWING SOMEONE TO SUPERSEDE THE RIGHT OF A HOMEOWNER TO DEFEND THEIR HOME NEED THEIR HEADS EXAMINED!!!! OF COURSE MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO THE WIFE AND CHILDREN OF THIS MAN....THESE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE KIDS NEED TO GROW UP AND ACT LIKE ADULTS SUCH TRAGEDIES WOULDN'T BE OCCURING!!!! GOOD DAY GREEN COUNTY
I would shoot you if you came over to my house. I don't see a problem with that.

Lol. Well said. As someone who has known Sam and his family since elementary school, I can say I honestly wasn't surprised to hear about this. His parents are/were great people. His ex is sweet as can be. His kids are great people despite having him for a father. I don't know what happened to him to turn out like he did, but I hope he's at peace at now. I hope his kids can find peace also.

I know an am close to both parties involved in this an I can tell u Sam did beat on woman I know an am friends with one of his ex's that he put in the hospital and he might have been a nice guy inside when he was not drinkin or on his drugs. I can tell u for a fact anyone of u would do the same thing if a man was to attack ur child an was tryin to kill them had them down an turnin blue an u could not get them off of ur child . What chose would u make the same one that he made to save ur child. Regardless of the fact that he took a man (he seen as a friend) life he is still a good man an a lovin person. I know he is sorry for what happened but he defended his family an home and did what he felt was right. No one can say they would not do the same. An if u don't really know what is goin on for sure u don't need to say anything.

Second degree murder carries min. 15 years in tn. That will put Brickey at 64 the earliest he'll be out. Point is he might as well be dead too. Was it worth it? I've heard the bad stories about Sam, I've also heard them about Brickey not the same bad stories but bad. Hero? I doubt it, none of us are. I know there are plenty of bad stories out there about me. And some of them are even true. All you judgmental pricks are laughable..

What does it matter where he was standing? What would you have done? Would you have taken the time to run across the room and shoot? I sure as hell don't blame him, and I probably would have done the same...matter of fact I know I would. He has my support as a human, and a neighbor.

You wouldn't ? I sure as hell would!

Fighting in the past was consider the right thing to do if you had a problem with someone.

This is a different time, people need to learn that don't have any right to lay a hand on another person.

Don't know Sam personally but had some dealings with him and i beleive the world will be a better place without him. All he has ever done was steal and cheat people. He liked to get drunk and beat on women thats the only people i heard of him beating the shit out of. In and out of jail his whole life. All i can say is he got what was coming to him.

Sam abandoned his kids and never gave them a penny or anything else in life. He choose a life of alcohol and drugs and gave up everything for it. His death is one less burden on society.

I am not defending Sam's character (everyone that knew him knows he was a drug addict and he abandoned his kids) but abandoning your kids and being addicted to drugs/ alcohol doesn't justify death.

Could everyone just have a little respect? People who go to jail have friends and families as well. Him losing his life is still sad to some of us so please show some respect.

Look at it this way, no women will ever get beat up by Sam again. Nobody will ever get killed by Sam driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. No one will ever get cheated by Sam again. Nobody will ever get something stolen by Sam again. And Sam's beautiful kids won't have to wonder if he will ever straighten out his life and love them like a father should. Today, the world is a better place without Sam Eanes.

So from reading all these posts, it seems like the only positives about Sam are that he was not a taker of shit but he was a whipper of ass. It's real hard to feel bad for him, as all his problems were self inflicted. Hate to see anyone waste their life like this.
