once again I am not judging anyone. Read the previous posts!!! Its going to be hard to prove that shooting someone in the head while intoxicated was the last resort and justified. Brickey will be in prison for a long time.

Why are people bringing up were the shot hit? Self defense or self defense of a third party got to stop the threat. I hope you are never in the position but trust me if you are you will want to stop the threat.

The right to self-defense granted by law to the private citizen is strictly limited. Use of force that goes beyond what is necessary to dispel the immediate threat of violence is known as excessive self-defense (also self-defense with excessive force). The civil law systems have a theory of "abuse of right" to explain denial of justification in such cases. Thus, in English law, the general common law principle is stated in Beckford v R (1988) 1 AC 130:
"A defendant is entitled to use reasonable force to protect himself, others for whom he is responsible and his property. It must be reasonable."
Being intoxicated and shooting someone in the head is not reasonable.

Yes it is, if the man was attacking his son he had to stop the attack. If it is true the man was choking his son and would not stop then your friend got what he asked for, head shot, body shot don't matter. So in your mind someone who had been drinking must let someone kill their family?

see there you go trying to put words in my mouth. By the way head shot, body shot might not matter to you or the fact that he was intoxicated but it does when it comes to the court of law. The DA is going to rip apart Brickey's defense if doesn't take a plea deal. By the way Sam's past criminal record cant be used against him and will not be a factor.

That remains to be seen and I don't know either of these people but I hate it when billy badasses get what is coming to them then billy badasses' family whines about what a good person he was and that the person had no right to defend themselves or their family against said billy badass. I hope you are the kind of person who would defend your family or yourself

If you do not know either of the families then you are just a troll with no life. I would say you are an overweight middle aged lady that has nothing to do all day but to troll on a website and express your opinion on topics you know nothing about. I do agree with you, Billy Baddass is in jail getting what he deserves while his family whines. I love it!!!

Whens the next court date? I've heard rumors this case will get minimal coverage and minimal sentencing!

not sure if it will get any coverage at all but if it goes to trial and he is found guilty minimum is 15-20 years. He will probably make a plea deal and get 10-12 out in 4-6.

That's sad...people spend more time in jail for smokin dope than they do for takin a life. I can understand someone protecting a family member... you can protect your family without killing another human being!

If Ron had enough people to swing a vote he would be out of jail. He cant even raise 25,000 through his friends and family so I doubt the DA is worried. If this is the way his friends and family think he is going to be in jail for a long time...can you say delusional???

By the way the DA does not make the rules on what charges to charge someone. There is formula that the DA has to go by in order for him to stay with in the law. You cant just go out and shoot someone and get a ticket for disturbing the peace.
