You really are behind aren't you? She has been at her new office (which is a whole lot bigger) for several months. Supporting the bald headed weasel just because you are not fond of her is ridiculous.

This town isn't going to "prosper" no matter who is in office. Without jobs that don't involve a "drive thru" this place is a lost cause. Tourist draw? Yes. ther are people who drive thru to see our world famous president Andrew Johnson....and then, they keep on going. The down town area looks like a slum. A few pictures painted on walls that are falling down was a really brillant idea. that will draw in tourist from far and wide.
I still believe there is hope with the right people in office. The larger chain stores are the reason many of the downtown stores have had to close. There are many jobs opportunities in the area, but most people believe they are too good to work at them. They expect to be paid $10,$15, or $20 an hour and it isn't going to happen without the proper education and experience.

At the local and state level WHO CARES what party they are? It only really has an impact at the national level.
People blindly voting party is one of the things wrong with our country and our state today.
That said, Hawk will easily win in a landslide because of the people who will vote for an R and not give a damn about the character of the person.
It begins at the local level and filters to the top. State representatives are responsible for raising funds for the community to go toward different projects, helping to lower the unemployment rate, and interacting with the community to determine what issues need to be addressed. Without finding out what is needed locally, the state representative would not know what issues to address at the state level. Their meetings and debates on the state floor helps to pass bills that become laws.

Unfortunately, I believe Hawk will win again because of the same reason he keeps winning. People will vote for him because he is a Republican and not take into consideration there is someone better for the job.

Hawk is supposed to represent Greene County and other counties in a respectable manner. Many people in the districts he represents know he is a joke, The people he works with in Nashville think he is a joke. He gets on the floor and acts like a jacka$$. He is a disgrace!
His ex wife shouldn't even be brought up in this discussion.
That he may be, but, I would think this person starting all these threads about Hawk, is either Crystal or someone close to her. To continuously harp about Hawk like has been going on here, that's jealousy not hatred. It comes from someone wanting to hurt him, not someone who doesn't like how he does his job.

What does this have to do with Hawk running for office? Absolutely nothing!

I don't want someone like that as my state rep. I don't know Crystal, never met Crystal, and don't care what she does or doesn't do - she is not running for office, he is.

The people who put Hawk signs in their yards are usually the ones who would throw their own grandmother under a bus in order to move ahead in their position. For example, a local cop who wants to move up in the ranks may really detest Hawk on a personal level but supports him professionally so he can move up in the ranks. The good old boy system is alive and well in Greene County. Until voters wise up and start voting people like David Hawk out of office, the town will not prosper.
That happens everywhere.

She has moved on with her life and you should move on with your obsession with her. The person starting the threads about Hawk is the same person who starts all the political threads and changes their username each time. And why would anyone be jealous of David Hawk. Seriously?

As far as Im concerned it has nothing to do with trying to hurt him. He did that himself, regardless of whether or not his wife is a slut. He reacted like a psycho, instead of a respectable elected official. He isn't worthy of his elected title, and should not be in office.

This is quite possible ... and SO much more. I don't think citizens really have any idea. We just need some folks who aren't part of the "good old boys" network in office. I served in elected office and quit because I got so tired of seeing it from the inside. And the local gossip rag only prints what they're told to print so we, effectively, have no local media. The "good old boys" and their public relations firm disguised as a newspaper keep their $Millions and the average Greeneville/Greene County Joe gets whatever crumb the "good old boys" let them have.

Please believe me ... they're TERRIFIED of the public waking-up and organizing.

<quoted text> I agree with your post. When I moved here I did exactly the same thing you have implied. But there is still something about Greene County that the neighboring counties do not have. I just wish there could be something like a theme park against the backdrop of that beautiful mountain range with campgrounds or some such put in place to lure people in to spend their money which could possibly benefit the local vendors as well. Just a thought..

Who are "they" or is this like a Masonic thing where it is a no-no to say their names to newcomers? I suppose we have to wait until after this Aug. election to see the results of which direction the brave folks of G.C. are leaning.

Never say never.....burger flippers in Seattle are jumping for joy.

I can only imagine how slighted all the educated people feel that worked hard to pay for college to make $15.00 an hour starting wage. Now any dropout off the street can walk in and get the same.

She isn't a slut, but I get your point. It doesn't matter what she did or what she said, he had no right to put his hands on her. Psycho is the perfect word to describe him. He was double dipped with the psychotic tendencies. Both of his parents are loony.

I support Mr. Hawk, as he is a good man in my view and he is sure better than any Democrat because he doesn't support abortion and gay marriage!

He has my vote!
