Agreed! Whether Democrat or Republican he has way too much baggage. He should have done the right thing and stepped down. In other countries we wonder how in the hell they can be so ignorant and continue to elect a despot as a leader. This a good example of sheeple and how they are led to jump off the cliff. Some people are just too dumb or stubborn to listen.

So you wanna down Hawk continuously. Yes, I understand it's probably because he is in office, but hey, Crystal wasn't a saint. She is an adultress, liar, thief and still has a practice in Greeneville. She still has clients I bet. Are those people who visit her for legal advice put into the same lineup you are putting Hawk supporters in? They should be if you are gonna be judging people. & that's not nice ya know.

Hawk is an elected official, he should be held to a higher standard than a private citizen. Simply put, he shouldn't be in office.

You people who actually have HAWK signs in your yards - are you insane?
You are actually publicly supporting this man for office? After what he did? All because he is a Republican?
Where are your morals? Where is your decency?
You people have none.
You should feel ashamed of yourselves but you have no shame, either.
The people who put Hawk signs in their yards are usually the ones who would throw their own grandmother under a bus in order to move ahead in their position. For example, a local cop who wants to move up in the ranks may really detest Hawk on a personal level but supports him professionally so he can move up in the ranks. The good old boy system is alive and well in Greene County. Until voters wise up and start voting people like David Hawk out of office, the town will not prosper.

I agree! I cannot understand how people can still vote for that quack! I wonder if any of the people who keep voting for him have taken the time to talk to David Hawk in person. The man is a con artist, liar, and psycho. I know many politicians are liars, but this guy goes overboard. I recommend talking to him face to face and then judge for yourself what kind of person he is. He doesn't make eye contact, fidgets, and talks a bunch of nonsense. His body language and tone of voice always tells me is full of BS.

Hawk is supposed to represent Greene County and other counties in a respectable manner. Many people in the districts he represents know he is a joke, The people he works with in Nashville think he is a joke. He gets on the floor and acts like a jacka$$. He is a disgrace!

His ex wife shouldn't even be brought up in this discussion.

Voting this way is part of the problem. I would prefer voting for a Republican but I refuse to vote for David Hawk just because he has an R beside his name. I don't particularly want to vote for a Democrat but in this case, the Democrat is the lesser of the two evils.

Or we could just not, you know, vote for evil. That's the real problem.

That is true but if you skip over the vote in the voting booth, Hawk still wins.

This town isn't going to "prosper" no matter who is in office. Without jobs that don't involve a "drive thru" this place is a lost cause. Tourist draw? Yes. ther are people who drive thru to see our world famous president Andrew Johnson....and then, they keep on going. The down town area looks like a slum. A few pictures painted on walls that are falling down was a really brillant idea. that will draw in tourist from far and wide.

I believe that when folks leave the decisions being made with just a few ( and do not attend the informational meetings to voice their concerns) then a town will become as stagnant as the people who reside there.

I agree with your post. When I moved here I did exactly the same thing you have implied. But there is still something about Greene County that the neighboring counties do not have. I just wish there could be something like a theme park against the backdrop of that beautiful mountain range with campgrounds or some such put in place to lure people in to spend their money which could possibly benefit the local vendors as well. Just a thought..

At the local and state level WHO CARES what party they are? It only really has an impact at the national level.

People blindly voting party is one of the things wrong with our country and our state today.

That said, Hawk will easily win in a landslide because of the people who will vote for an R and not give a damn about the character of the person.

The same could be said I am afraid for Lamar instead of Carr.

Do you realize how awful that sounds?
"Wife beater? Psycho? Murderer? Rapist? Mass murderer?
Who cares, as long as they are Republican I am voting for them!"
This is the mentality that led to Adolf Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany - party before everything!
That is so very true! Absolutely amazing how one of those basturdly Republicans can continue to be voted in while we have a Democrat community organizer who rolled over the dazedly confused sheeple not just once, but twice and STILL has not even been vetted. Amazing shat right there, also.

All the Mafia has to do is run as Republicans in this town and they will always be voted right in regardless of any past misdeeds.
