The school has a zero tolerance against bullying and that is great, but what do the children do when its the techers and princapal thats doing the bullying.

They get to suck it up in Greene County...where the backwards folks still think children should be seen and not heard. Some of teacher/coaches have the maturity level of toddlers. They antagonize students and when they are called on it, they say it was just a harmless joke. And we wonder why violence against teachers is on the rise? Administration there also dole out uneven punishment based on favorites. It amounts to bullying, but when parents try to do something about it the county school falls back on the "principal's discretion" clause and will not get involved. I am lucky my children have not had issues, but some of their friends have. It is shameful for adults to behave so childishly, but then again there are a lot of immature adults in this county. And in the school system teachers often seem to pick on the children of parents with whom they had issues back when they all went to school together back in the day. It is crazy, but then they way schools, government and even business is run in this small town makes no sense to me.

There are ways around "principal discretion"... The parents just have to have enough back bone and sense about them to keep pushing. If you cause enough stink, someone will eventually get tired of the smell and eliminate the problem... No child deserves to be bullied and parents MUST learn to be more effective and knowledgeable advocates for their children. The new "principals discretion" stuff is truly bs. It doesn't matter what they want to decide, state and federal laws override school board policy any day. If you cannot get the school administrators to actively fix the issue, keep climbing the ladder until you get someone high enough up that they can and will do something. Include media attention... Nobody likes that controversy. I am know as "one of those" moms... But my boys are well taken care of. The way I see it, if we as parents are obligated to give a certain level of care... And we are governed by a law that mandates our children MUST attend school... Then these schools should be held just as accountable as we as parents are for mistreatment of any kind. I don't play their games. What's fair is fair and my children deserve the very best this world has to offer.

Yes our school system in greeneville is screwed up! Teachers bully more than students! They are not educated enough to teach our children! I suggest private school if you can afford it . There it truely is a NO BULLY ZONE!

This "bullying" issue has been blown way out of proportion. If your kid is a wimp and won't stand up for themselves, it's mostly the parents fault.

Yes the issue exist I've seen it first hand and when you report it it gets swept under the rug. Teacher bullying is a big problem and I think a lot of public attention needs to be drawn to the issue .

My daughter is very sweet and very pretty! She's 14 now but when she was in the 2nd grade she was sent to the principal's office daily. A girl dropped her scissors in class. My daughter stood up and put the scissors back on the girl's desk. She was sent to the office and I was called. Yes, I understand kids can be totally different when parents aren't around but after gathering all the information and listening to both the teacher and principal, I'd come to the conclusion that my child was being singled out... I'm still uncertain why... Yet, I remained calm and informed these low life educators that I'd work with my daughter. The meeting ended but before I could get home I was called again. My daughter had asked another student for a freakin blue crayon and was sent to the office for speaking out of turn. I turned my car around, requested another immediate meeting with this teacher and principal and informed them of their sorry azz methods and that if this teacher couldn't handle a child such as mine, without turning her over to the principal then she was a dumb sorry azz b!tch, mixed up in the wrong profession.

Then I enrolled her into one of the city schools, explained the situation and never had another problem...

Back when I was in school, my mother would've straight up stomped some teacher booty! There was a time or two it happened to us growing up and it ended quickly... Ol Ma didn't take no sh!t. Lol the thing is, teachers are human. They err. should it happen in an ideal world, no. But it does. So, we change teachers, change schools, move districts, even states... Then we wonder why our children have so many "issues".... Come on parents, if you cannot change their school... Change your demeanor and fight back for your children.
