Romneycare, which is a state level verson of President Obama's Affordable Care Act, was one of Mitt Romney's biggest accomplishments as Governor of Massachusetts. That was then. Now he wants to repeal Obamacare. FlipFlopFlipFlop

He wants to repeal Obamacare and turn the decision of universal healthcare over to the states, instead of it being a federal mandate. The people of Maine may have different needs or priorities than the people of California do. I wouldn't expect you to comprehend anything beyond Obama's 30 second sound byte commercials.

Obama sure did make AARP happy by letting them operate with twice the administrative costs of private insurers. Typical private insurers operate on a 5 to 6% margin. AARP lobbied Obama to keep its 4.95% royalty it takes in from its Medicare Advantage and Medigap plans that it sells its membership.

Despite the fact that seniors will have to pay more for their coverage, AARP was able to block Medigap reform saving AARP $2.8 billion dollars in revenue over 10 years. So when you hear that AARP supports Obamacare, it has to do with money for them. AARP gets 52% of its revenue from royalties, and 2/3 of that comes from a 4.95% cut from plans it sells through United Health Care.

Always, always, follow the money when you don't understand something. Somebody, somewhere is getting their pockets stuffed with your cash when the government passes a bill.

I comprehend from your posts that you think that like the pigs in Animal Farm, all people are equal, but some are more equal than others. You know that sounds a little like Romney, and I thought all these years that George Orwell had communism in mind when he wrote "Animal Farm".

Please explain why the citizens of one state are entitled to better health care than the citizens of other states.

I also hope that you are capable of comprehending the fact that people move from state to state. I trust that you do know that when Tenncare was first started that famlies moved here from other states to get coverage they couldn't get at home.

The need for health care crosses state boundry lines.

Why are the roads better in some states? Why are the schools better in some states? Why is car insurance cheaper in some states? Why is the minimum wage higher in some states? Why is the cost of living lower in some states? If you want everything to be equal, I mean everything exactly equal, then Communism is your answer. If you want a centralized government running every function of society, then Communism is your salvation. Everything here will never be equal. The message is that states can better evaluate and administer to the needs of its citizens better than a centralized, multi layered, politically challenged, bureaucracy.

If he is all about state's having more rights and government have less control; then should it also be that individual states have their own say in laws like drugs? Mitt wants to make it illegal for the distribution and sale of marijuana including medicinal purposes.
Talk about a hypocrite. Let state have control in whatever HE decides.

Why do people have such a problem with ACA? You all bit(h about your insurance rates going up because of people uninsured going to the ER and not (being able) to pay their bill. Does anything make you happy? Oh, that's right. Only when it benefits your asses and helps you sleep at night.
Christian values and Republican ideology I suppose.

You are right Benny. I just browsed United Health's Advantage Care plans and sure enough there are changes.

Premiums will be $20 less a month in the coming year along with lower copays.

Medigaps are also privately insured policies, aren't they? Why will the same concept that Romney supports not work with medigaps. Each competing for insuree?

Shouldn't the free market work in the same way?

As far as AARP goes they promote United Health.

Why shouldn't they receive an imbursement for their service?

I hope someone has told you by now how STUPID your comments are! Romney believes the states can best help their own citizens..he wants the government out of the way, but wants them to step in and help if the states ask. Where did you get the ridiculous idea that he is promoting better health care for one state over the other? You are sounding more like Obama... hoping that if you say things enough, people will believe them. lol

This is they way our government has functioned for decades. This is why any President can't fix a corrupt system until laws are put in place to imprison the crooks and thieves. This is more proof of why we need more laws and harsher punishments against predatory capitalists and their lobbyists controlling our government instead of less regulation. If Romney becomes president the same corrupt money from the same corrupt lobbyists will control him and his policies.

There is no Romneycare cause Romney does NOT care. A spoiled rich man who has no clue about the struggles of us common folk. Ask the employees at Staple (which his company owns) how much he cares about them. Layoffs and pay cuts. All he cares about is his God,which is his Money.

That is funny. Stating facts does not make one jealous. The fact remains. He lived a life of privilege and has never had to WORK to make sure his bills were paid. That is fine and God bless him (or as he would say thank my heavenly father who lives on a planet named Kolob) The truth is he is out of touch with the hard working american public. Much like the way he treated his dog. We all are just an inconvenience to him. He will stick us wherever he wants just to get where he is going.

He does not even think we need to know what his plans are. What else beside PBS does he think needs to go. Oh I quess where not important enough to tell and his plan for health care for the uninsured is the emergency room. There is no Romneycare cause Romney does NOT care.
