GREENE COUNTY, Tenn.-- UPDATE 9:45 a.m.: We've learned a sixth grade boy was hit and killed around 7 a.m. along Holder Road between Snapps Ferry Road and the Kingsport Highway.
Emergency workers tell us the child was a student at Chuckey-Doak Middle School.
The boy apparently died from massive head injuries after being struck by the bus.

Tri-Cities.com said that there were no children on the bus when it happened, so in a way that was a blessing. We're praying for the family, friends and bus driver of this dear child. So tragic.

This breaks my heart, I have a son the same age and can't imagine what his parents feel. Praying they will get some kind of peace during such a difficult situation. I do question a child of any age having to board a school bus at such an early time maybe the school board should look at changing the time schools take up. Kids shouldn't have to wait on a bus before daybreak.

How does this happen? The sister was already on the bus so how in the hell did the child get run over ?! What a horrible thing to happen to a child who barely got to live ....If I was the parents I would sue the hell out of Greene County! Prayers out to the family!!
Why don't you wait to see what happened before suing the hell out of Greene County? I doubt that the driver did it on purpose.

WBIR reports the the sister told the driver to "wait my brother is coming", but the driver started driving away because the boy was "suspended" from riding the bus!! What's up with that??? Was the driver so hateful that he couldn't have made sure the boy was out of the way? What did he do...stomp the gas pedal because he was afraid the boy wpould board the bus?? I think that driver needs investigated!

School bus driver should be blood tested because if this happened and someone was driving a car they would get blood tested and go to jail if it was a big truck they would get blood tested and lose their job. Praying for the family that's so sad.

do you know the story? or just from what you read?

I think you need to be investigated for stupidity of knowing it all...

Hell the sister could be lying, we don't know so quit jumping to conclusions

Maybe we can arrange a dual hanging for the bus driver and Zimmerman down in Florida before we know all the facts.
