What does it matter?? He was in possession of child pornography. Whether it was male or female, he is a pervert for having it. If you were about to make a comment that it's rare for men to have pictures of little girls or to sexually abuse girls, you're way off base. In the past year, less than 7% of child molestation cases in the US were homosexual. Yeah, over 90% were men abusing girls and women abusing boys. I don't care what you say, "pervert" is anything but an appropriate term to describe a gay person. I say this, because I do prefer the same sex, and I do not, nor do I ever plan to, abuse children, in any way. I stand so firmly on this that I don't believe children should ever have to experience corporal punishment.

Please define flaunting. Not the dictionary definition but what a gay teacher does to flaunt his/her lifestyle.

I'll tell you why it matters. Sangelia said she was married to a straight man that was a pervert.. A straight man doesn't have pictures of naked little boys. That would make him gay or bisexual at best.

It doesn't matter in the least. Whether he possessed pictures of girls or boys, he is a pervert. His sexuality does not matter.

Why worry about "gay teachers"... worry about our young adults coming out of school with absolutely NO knowledge or preparation for the world business community !

very true. and when I divorced him. I made sure I had a copy of his court case involving that filth. my lawyer handed it to his lawyer. a friend that was making sure I was safe between for the trip and for the meeting. he said that my ex's lawyer blanched when my lawyer gave him that copy.
when they left the meeting. his lawyer was reaming my ex at least one new one.......
.
one reason I divorced my ex was due to him being a pedophile.

I might be biased as a gay man but I do not have a problem with it. I agree that the gay man should not be flamboyant. I honestly do not care too much for flamers.(I want a man not a woman LOL)

One thing though, everyone is focusing on gay men but I would like to know if being taught by a gay woman is any differently?

And thirdly atleast the Don't Say Gay bill appears to be bogged way down in Nashville. I would not like Sen. Stacy Campfield teaching my kid. Check out http://crispywatkins.com/track/campfield-and-... and listen to his Don't Say Gay song. It tickled me when I heard it.

and what would you do if you did not find out till the end of the school year that the teacher was gay.
and I noticed that you had quotation marks around the word - gay. was that to describe gay as in homosexuality. or was it to show the stereotyped version of a gay person?
as in being somewhat feminine in a male and masculine traits in a woman. does this includes their clothing? or meal choices? vocal affectations such as a lisp.
every homosexual person I know of, be they male or female never had a lisp.
not every lesbian looked butch. nor every male looked effeminate. every one that I seen, you would not be able to tell.

I live in a small community, small school, not many outsiders. New ideas and people aren't always welcome here. We all operate on the same principles and ethics. So I guess my kids school don't pertain to this. Teacher or not "gays" male or female make me sick.

that is how my parents used to be. their hometown was only about a thousand folks. not including the farmers.
till my brother had a coworker who is gay. then my parents and brother learned something I knew years before that. just like us hetros. they stick their pants on one leg at a time.
.
thing is, what would you do if a family member was gay and came out of the closet? would you still care for them? or would you disown them. what if that person was your offspring?

I don't think there is anything wrong with being gay (and please don't start a religious argument with me here because I am agnostic so you're barking up the wrong tree).
But I know many people who are gay, and they're some of the nicest, most amazing people I've ever met, and that's what matters to me.
So I think teacher (or anybody to ever exist) should be able to love and marry whoever they wish and not be judged for it.
So yes, I am all for gay teachers.

if your kids and or grandkids know how you stand. you really think they want to risk their own life by coming out of the closet to you if they were born gay?
.
http://www.godandscience.org/evolution/geneti... An examination of family pedigrees revealed that gay men had more homosexual male relatives through maternal than through paternal lineages, suggesting a linkage to the X chromosome.
.
http://www.avert.org/being-gay.htm While none of these factors alone completely answers the question 'what causes homosexuality?', they rule out some things. For example, lesbian and gay young people are not 'failed' heterosexuals. Also, homosexual partners are generally of the same age proving wrong the assumptions that young people are 'turned gay' by older people.

I'm curious, as a gay man who doesn't fit your flaming homosexual stereotype role.(Most would just see me as just another gray, fat, bearded hick in a pick up.) How would you feel about effeminate straight men teaching? They adore women, marry them and have kids but they aren't butch or tough. Should they be fired for having feminine mannerisms?

What about known alcoholics or adulterers who broke vows and cheated or are cheating on a spouses? Gosh if a pure moral lifestyle is required to teach, then it might even include divorced or single parents who have never been married. Would they be good role models for children? Would being employed by the school mean the school endorsed their behavior and lifestyle?

What about the opposite end of the spectrum? People fall for fakes all the time especially were politics and religion are concerned. How about the conservative Republicans and Preachers who play up their masculine persona's, attacking gays every chance they get while in secret they are patronizing the very male prostitutes they say can be cured. Should they be allowed to preach in church, give lectures, run for office or run for-profit rehab centers for gays when they can't control themsleves?
http://www.ranker.com/list/top-10-anti-gay-ac...

BTW to Howard: A straight or gay man who keeps pictures of children of any sex are always called Pedophiles. People of any sex or orientation, who prey on, rape or victimize children are always Pedophiles because they get off on dominating weak powerless, little children. Any person of either sex can be a Pedophile but not all straight people, not all gay people are Pedophiles. More child rapes are perpetrated by straight males because they are trusted to be alone with children when they shouldn't be. The faster people get that through their thick heads the fewer children will be put through H3ll.

Your kids school don't pertain to this? Not many outsiders? Ha, what do you think, that outsiders bring the gayness with them? You might have local gay teachers. Us gays from small towns have learned to live a lie so you people will never know. Gays will always be around, so I guess you be "sick" for the rest of your life!

I'd be less concerned about their personal sexual proclivities and more concerned about the caliber of their teaching skills.
