Have been told that there was a hotel on Round Knob in th 30's or 40's. Anyone have any history about this.

I have never heard of a hotel on Round Knob. It would be interesting to know about it though.

Last time I was up there the old swimming pool was still there. It's all private property now. (Greystone)

I've heard some older people talk about a resort / hotel on Greystone Mtn. back in the 20's or 30's, but I don't think it was on Round Knob but rather on Greystone Mtn. There was also a hotel on Yellow Springs Mtn. where people would come to bathe in the springs.

Go up the round knob rd like you are going to the pavilion. When you come to a road that breaks off to the right take it. When you reach the top there will be a house and barn on your right. Then a gray cabin on the right. There will be a old garage on your left. Stay straight until you can't go any farther. There will be a house directly in front of you and a large power line overhead. Take a left and go out a little lane by a house on your left. The pool will be on out a ways on your right. It looks more like a concrete tank than a pool. BUT like I said it's all private property now.

May be called Greystone Mt. You turn to the right before you get all the way to the end of the road. Was also up there many years ago & saw remains of the old swimming pool. Was told at that time that a hotel had been there. Someone brought it up again a few days & I thought maybe someone on Topix had some info. Can't find anything online & have not been to library yet. Thanks for any input.

The last few years the motel was in operation a man that lived in camp creek, Worley Jenning, ran it. He was a good friend of my parents. If my memory is correct, it was a whore house for a while. The last time i was there, probably in the 60's the pool was in decent shape but my grandfather killed a copperhead in the pool.

It was Worley Jennings that owned it. My father worked for him logging there in the 50's. There was also a boys camp up there. If my memory is correct the motel burned down.
