He lived on cypress st. This has been about 13 to 15 years ago. What, or why? Was it really determined? A young married couple confessed?

it was Bronzo & Sonya Gosnell that was convected over it, but they never confessed. no reason was ever given. he got 25 years & she got 20. everyone that knew them has wondered why.

He was a really nice man. Lived beside my grandmother (passed). I was hoping for a story, or motive, if you will.

Didn't Bronzo shoot his step father, like when he was a kid?

I remember this story. It seemed kind of shady to me, nothing was ever explained. Or even released in the news. Doesn't the accused couple have children? What happened to them? And for definite which brother committed suicide?

Bronzo's biological father committed suicide. Bronzo has a brother named Joel. Bronzo & Joel's step-father was killed but they were cleared in their step-father's death. Seems like the Grand jury wouldn't indict & it was considered self-defense. Bronzo is still serving time in Gillette's murder case. Joel was not indicted. Joel is the father to Miss Greene County, Courtney Gosnell. Seems like they had a couple of sisters/half-sisters.

Bronzo's wife had children, seems like bronzo did too.

so who actually killed the step father? Did a hung jury let a killer run free only to kill again? Maybe years later, but again. And again with no explanation, or motive.

It was not a "hung jury"....it was the Grand Jury. A hung jury would result at trial; the Grand Jury would be the ones to listen to the evidence & determine if there is sufficient evidence to indict. Since the Grand Jury didn't indict then it would have never even went to trial for there to be a hung jury.

I don't know all the details involved in the case & do not want to wrongfully speculate. Based on my aging memory, it seems like the step-father was behaving in an alleged wild/crazy/abusive manner and he was shot as a matter of self-defense for those present, specifically Bronzo & Joel's mom. If that's what happened then I would agree they should not have been charged. Just my opinion......

What about him? He died, Bronzo & wife Sonya were charged and convicted, they went to prison. He lived alone on street over near Bean Barn. I thought his name was Charlie. Maybe that was a nickname, maybe I'm just wrong.

As for your earlier post about nothing in the paper, I was thinking the trial lasted a few days maybe even a week. I remember there being coverage. Seems like the murder was in '99, trial might have been either '99 or early '00, probably the latter. You might find something on google about it or visit the library & search microfilm. The newspaper might be able to help with archived info.

You got my curiosity going so I googled it myself and refreshed my memory per the newspaper articles. Sonya & Bronzo Gosnell were charged with First Degree murder but were convicted of lesser charge of second degree. Victim Gillette & Bronzo were coworkers at Triangle Contractors. Bronzo & wife were at Gillette's house the night of the death. Bronzo had been drinking. Per the article, no motive was ever established. Seems like it was believed to be drug/$/sex related but never really proven.

The victim's name was Charles, " Charlie " like I thought I remembered. you can also look at court case on appeal if you google. I didn't read it but it might give you facts not covered in paper. Hope this helps....

Another violent crime in Greene co left unsolved. But don't worry, you're safe because they did find the pot smokers. That's what's important, right? Sad...

Is your brain fried from smokin' weed, did you not bother to read the details, or do you think the case is unsolved despite two people spending a log time in prison relevant to their convictions for this crime?
