I challenge everyone posting to commit to reading The Good Book, pray for understanding before you read and you will be amazed. As for suffering the word says it rains on the just and unjust the same.Christ knows about suffering more than anyone. The Earth declares the majesty of The Lord.If you can't see intelligent design in creation look again.

You say God created man kind as if you know this for a fact. It might be written in some supposed magic book somewhere but it cant be proven. And its all about perspective too, if there is a god and he cares, why does he create people and animals with a life of nothing but pain and suffering from birth until death? If god cared, those people would have never been born at all, if god cared, mankind would never have existed in the first place. Bringing people into a miserable life is an act of caring? I think not.

i guess i understand how you feel; but if there is no GOD that means everything had to happen by accident, by ACCIDENT!!! it makes no sense. let's assume that there is a 99% chance there is no GOD and a 1% chance there is. Why would you want to take that chance? By the way, HE loves you and HE is waiting on you. HE will be there when you call.

You speak as if you know for a fact that God doesn't exist. Well my friend I can't prove you wrong but you can't prove me wrong either. Have you ever been a christian before? Just curious to know.

Wow, the posts here are so skewed. There is middle ground to explore.

All you self proclaimed Christians (not bashing, just identifying)...Did you know that the Roman Catholic Church deleted vast sections of the bible to control its member and increase revenues to the church? All the denomination of Christianity seem to put their own spin on what is right and wrong...ignoring the parts of the bible that are not convenient for them. Let's face it, the bible was written by imperfect people and has been translated and refined over and over. Did you ever play the telephone game when your were a kid? How screwed up did the original message get? I think there is great wisdom to be found in the bible and in many religions.

Then there are the aethiests who seem to think we are the result of a cosmic dust storm. Really?

I see a grand design, whether there is a benevolent creator is a question for the ages. I see answers outside the realm of strict Christianity. I feel I have an old soul and possess knowledge that is not the result of my current life. My job, if you will, is to transcend my imperfections so that my soul can ascend to a higher plane. That is done through many lifetimes. Have you not ever glimpsed an old soul in the body of a young child? It is obvious if you have ever witnessed it.

There are many questions about creation and direction that can be answered if you are just still long enough...not trying to pray or form a thought...just still. You will get direction from within yourself. Your body, not the steeple down the street, is the temple.

Sometimes, when I meat people like you on the internet, I pray with all my heart for them. It isn't that you CAN'T believe in god, it is that you are turning him away. When god comes too you unless he already has, do not shun him,PRAY. Once he comes, he might never come again. And if you can't repent, then when you die you spend all eternity in hell. I have told you the truth, flat out and straight. It is for your own good. And yes I believe in god with all my heart.

I usually don't involve myself in these discussions. So, allow me to first say "This is my fantasy of it"

Here we all are, We lived , We died. End of Story on that.

Now, this is where I like to think that after death, time travel becomes possible. You will go back and see how the universe was created. Not the discovery channel way of coarse, but with a vision you've never experienced before.

Next you will watch the birth of bacteria form and all the time spent forming to mankind.

After that you will see how many lives you affected during your visit to planet earth. You will see everything in the afterlife as God sees it now.

Guess what after that?

Grab a cold beer and a hot dog because I haven't had one in 47 trillion years.

I'm comfortable with life, which death will be a part of. In my life brings more life and in my death brings more life. I'm just a speck but I'm the best speck I can be. I don't do it for rewards, I do it cause I believe its right. The bible is a guide but its up to the individual to live their life. If there is or isn't an afterlife doesn't matter cause I'm enjoying what's right in front of me now. My kids, the mountains, changing leaves, shooting stars, my animals, orgasms, food, good books, art, football, my health, etc. I think bad things happen to remind us to live now, to stop & smell the roses. I guess your God is what you have faith in & can believe in. Idk how we got here but we are here. So God or no God, I'm not gonna stop enjoying what I have right in front of me.

I believe in God. Why? Well, I have a hard time believing that this world and all the life thats in it, the miracle of the human body itself, the conception of a child, the tiny insects that crawl on the ground, and the vast universe beyond us is all just a freak accident. I believe there is a lot of truth in the Bible. However, I believe it is tainted with the opinions and personal beliefs of the time in which it was written. I agree with another post that mentioned "what about all the books of the Bible that were selected to be left out?" How would that affect the overall meaning of the Bible itself? I have many questions in my mind. I was raised in church, asked forgiveness of my sins as a young person, and lived many years trying to live the "Christian life". Through the years I talked with God, longed to see him working in my life, guiding me in the way I should go. I Prayed but never really received answers. Everyone around me was claiming to hear Gods voice and thanking him for answered prayers. Then one day I started looking around. Thinking for myself for a change and realized that these people are just brain washed into believing that they hear God and that prayers were really answered. In reality, the outcome would probably have been the same reguardless. I do believe God wants us to believe in him and accept him for what he is. He gave us a brain and the ability to know right from wrong and I think he expects us to use it. I have a question. God being all knowing, Why did he create Man in the first place? God must have known we would fail. Why was the tree of knowledge put in the garden when God knew man would fail? Knowing all this, he had to have a plan of salvation to save us. Then, to send his son as a sacrifice to allow us forgiveness of our sins that some Christians insist we have to keep doing over and over again each time we mess up. Really? If we were capable of doing no wrong, we wouldn't need salvation. Anyway, I believe in God. Anything beyond that is open for debate. I honestly think he expects us to get through this life on our own. How we deal with it determines what we get in the end.

There may be a God - if there is it would be a selective God not a God of love or fairness or understanding. We have been brain washed as IndivIduals and as a society into belIeving a deeper power cares about us - that just isn't true. I have seen to much pain and suffering in my lIfe to belIeve there is a God that cares - If there is a God then he may kiss my you know what... May he experience the hurt, the pain and suffering he has bestowed upon man can for eternity. That is my one hope and wish that he suffer as he has made mankind suffer ... Do I believe there Is a God well the answer is yes. Do I belIeve God loves all his children well no no I don't. So My hope Is God lives and feels the pain he InflIcts on man kInd!!! So God, KMA!!! Since the birth of the planet Earth life has lived and then become extinct. Humans will one day suffer the same fate and a new life form will develop.
