Again...simple minded. The books in which the recorder/CPA keeps a record of what the money goes to. If you believe everything in the paper, then you are really as simple minded as I thought. Please assert your rights and dig deeper. Go to school board meetings and ask questions instead of eating your time one topix on a subject you know little about
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You made me laugh at your rational. I'm assuming you work in the school system and have read these records from start to finish. Who's the recorder/cpa that keeps the books? So you're telling me I can go to the school system and ask for a line item budget that will tell me and anyone where all the tax money goes? Have you gone to the school board meetings and asked questions? Is this how you got your information? Straight from the horses mouth you say? So the general public can attend these meetings and ask any question they want?

So instead of breaking the contract. If we don't have the money, we should just raise property taxes on people who aren't getting raises in this tough economy. I'm sorry if every employee didn't get a raise. You can take that up with the Greeneville Sun, seeing they stated all county employee's did. For the record though, seems like you're admitting that some did get raises. If that tax hike was used for the schools, as you have previously stated. Then please tell me where did the money for the raises come from?
You're right. Every employee got a raise. The director stated that in the paper. That seems to be directly from the horses mouth. Where is this contract Agree talks about? Where can we get a copy of that? That would probably be something the public would be interested in. Who negotiates this contract? The director? The board? If they're promising more than they can pay for in these contracts then we need to replace them. It was on the radio and in the paper that all but a few thousand dollars of that property tax went for raises and benefits for employees. Until agree can produce some "contracts", or cpa/recorder reports that say otherwise I would recommend they not be so simple minded as to repeat something that just isn't true. Where's the proof? Would love to see it.

Yes. It's called the public records law. You have a right to inspect any public document. Now, if you want copies, you have to pay for them, but inspection is free. You are welcome for the civics lesson.

It seems this subject has gotten off point. But if we are talking about raises. Our State Rep's got a raise that was built in, starting November 6....election day. I don't see then turning it down, even though we are in a recession.

Now, our state will loose money because of Obama care, yet our rep'a knew this and did nothing to change their automatic pay raise. Nice! It seems they tell us one thing in Greeneville and do another in Nashville. Our state doesn't have the money for this.

You didn't answer my questions. Have YOU seen ALL those records that tell where every penney of that property tax increase went? How much of that went to raises? Have you been to board meetings and asked questions to be able to back your statements up? If you did they didn't report it in the media. They pretty well cover those kinds of things. Makes news. Who is the cpa/recorder that keeps those records, so we can go ask for those? Please set us straight with FACTS. You're doing what most liberals doing, taking talking points from "someone" and then going out here and stating them as facts. Well the talking points you make don't hold water. I will believe statements made by the very people you misquote, over what you pretend to know anyday. You have to tell the truth before you can give civics lessons. I'm not for anyone, legislators included getting a big fat raise right now when most of the working people out here haven't seen one in a few years or if they have gotten one, have it eaten up with the increase in insurance we have to pay. My deductible just doubled, and I have to pay the difference in the increase. So I've lost money the last 3 years. But, I at least still have a job. The new healthcare law is going make it worse. I hate to see what we will have to pay the next few years. So you can be caddy all you want to, doesn't bother me because you obviously don't know what you're talking about. But, you go ahead and keep telling yourself how smart you are if it makes you feel better.

Thank you so much! I had been confused about all of this! You have now cleared up my mind and I am ready to accept our government running everything in my life! Thank God I don't have to think for myself anymore. It is so comforting to know that there are rooms full of beauracrats looking after all my wants and needs. God Bless the USA and our Saviour Obama!

I'm sorry, didn't have time to answer them all. Yes, I regularly attend commission and board meetings. I havnt looked over every document, as no person has except our accounting department. Which is you recall, has been at several meetings to discuss financials. If toy recall, Tedd Hensley asking the CPA to keep special ledgers for special decisions. No, the paper doesn't report everything. I am very conservative, and know too well that the liberal Sun barely scratches the surface in the truth. I hate taxes, but I support public education. Apparently the rest of the county does as well, as many commissioners were reelected. Also, the financials re kept at the annex. You can go and find it yourself. I am not your liberal momma here to spoon fees you. Just simply to state that "every" employee didn't get a raise in the county.

The accountant for the county commission couldn't begin to tell us what all that money for the schools is used for. There hasn't been an election for new county commissioners since the tax increase. Mr. Dabbs just filled Ms. Grogans seat. He was elected because he wasn't on the commission when the property tax was voted on. Let's see how many of those 11 commissioners that voted for the 20 cent property tax do get elected if someone runs against them in two years. There's already one school board member who lost in the recent election because he voted for the tax increase and to close schools. Hopefully that's what's to come with the rest of the board members and county commissioners. What they did had NOTHING to do with education. Just keep drinking the kool-aid.

I'm sorry, but again, you lump everything into an all or nothing. No, all of the money didn't go to schools. However, 13% did. When you start using words like "never" and "all" you lie to yourself. At least I am smart enough to see the grey area. You have went completely to one side. That is what's wrong with the two party system, the correct answer is usually in the middle, but both parties are too stupid to see it.

It's also nice to see how you have no comment on Hawks raise? Guess you think he deserves it, even though Obamacare will leave the state in a deficit? Or perhaps you don't care because the liberal sun hasn't told you to care yet.

it don't matter what people believe. might be a little game to follow, keep our attention, bet a beer on, but people and what they believe, or don't, don't matter.

You obviously didn't read all my posts. I certainly did address legislators getting raises. Maybe you don't know what a legislator is? Look it up. Seventy some thousand of a million four isn't 13%. Weren't good at math either? Grey is the problem in this country. No one wants to stand up for what's black and white- right or wrong. Oh, I see we have a libertarian here. Socially conservative - kinda, but liberal on legalizing drugs etc. You're right the new health law is going to break this country's economy. Got to pay for all the illegal aliens to have health care and go to school free.

I saw Hawk the other night at the Morgan, dressed in a suit, walking around as If he doesn't have a care in the world. Does anyone think he will get convicted, or am I living in a world that believes that I would be embarrassed and not show my face if I was in his position? Wow!
