I really do wish Obama good health. If anything were to happen to him...we get Joe Biden.

Yep. Heard that on the radio. Stinks too! I don't even drink whiskey - but think that this would provide jobs. I do, however, feel that eventually they will get the go ahead. |
|
Judged: 1 1 1 There we get the second cut from the double edged sword of Federal budget cuts. Those jobs are the first cut, with the loss of dollars spent by those folks in the local economy. Then County Government has to figure out where they will find the dollars to replace those which flow to them from the Fed. They can't run deficits, so there will have to be tax increases and we trade dollars garnered by progressive income taxes for those from regressive land and sales taxes. This hurts Main Street as well...Ditto for State Government...Every cut has ripples, and with enough cuts ripples, become waves. |

The state & local govt's can't run deficits due to the requirement of a balanced budget. Too bad the federal government isn't required to live within its means too. |

First...the politicians are exempt from the more strict NY gun laws...now - some other, elite citizens are:
Gov. Cuomo says Hollywood exempt from strict New York gun control law |
The Federal Government's most important task is to keep this country safe. In the midst of the recent downturn, when tax revenues had collapsed, where would the Fed get the money to fight an attack against our country without the ability to spend borrowed dollars ? When the economy nosedived during the Great Depression, and there was a trickle of tax dollars for 10 years, how would the Government have mobilized the equipment and the military to fight a two front war in Europe and South East Asia if they had been constrained by a balanced budget requirement ? |

Judged: 3 3 3 You Ms Lady(Chuckels), are such an idiot I refuse to ever read anything else you post. Let the past go you damn old fool. In case you haven't notice Obama is responsible for the situation America is in today not Bush/Cheney. It's because of old fools like you that our economy is in ruins and our country is being over run by criminals from other nations as we become a socialist ran government. You are a shame to everyone who has ever served his or her country. That's all... |

Oh that's easy (if one believes that pinheads in Washington could actually do it)- Congress enacts a law that is then signed by the President suspending the BB requirement to deal with such catasrophies if/when they occur with an expiration date to boot. At that time it is revisited to see if it is still required - or if conditions warrant it expiring. A balanced budget is good - ask Bill Clinton |

Judged: 1 1 Your beloved Keynes suggested deficit spending to stimulate things. But he was also against long term debt. Our current debt is not long term. It's permanent. There is no way that it will ever be paid, even if the economy comes back roaring. |

Judged: 1 1 1 A Texas high school student has filed a federal lawsuit against her school and her teachers after she was punished for refusing to salute and recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance. The Thomas More Law Center filed the suit on behalf of Brenda Brinsdon alleging the McAllen Independent School District violated the 15-year-old girl’s constitutional rights when she was forced to recite the Mexican pledge and sing the Mexican national anthem. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top...ca... |

Judged: 1 1 1 It seems to me that many ascribe to the idea of "selective ripples"! Often, those in the "Rape the tax-payer" camp refuse to consider cumulative "ripples" on the expenditure side, saving all criticism for reform proposals, cuts, or any apprehension of an obviously out-of-control entitlement model. I just don't remember hearing these consternations, or warnings of "ripples turning into waves" from democrats as it relates to run-a-way spending....sixteen Billion worth! Notwithstanding the sequester debacle, the federal government will still spend more this year..than last! While no-one delights in the prospect of personal job loss, the world of labor and commerce could never survive without the dynamic. You must've terminated an unnecessary, unaffordable or non-essential employee in your past..I certainly have! The entities I served would never have survived without these mechanisms of survival..no business ever could! I believe the federal government should act upon its critical duty in similar fashion, starting with a budget! This won't happen for at least three and a half more years, and may not...then! |
