Dunpalian, I think what Rubio was referring to came from this part of Obama's speech:
"In 2011, Congress passed a law saying that if both parties couldn’t agree on a plan to reach our deficit goal, about a trillion dollars’ worth of budget cuts would automatically go into effect this year. These sudden, harsh, arbitrary cuts would jeopardize our military readiness. They’d devastate priorities like education, energy, and medical research. They would certainly slow our recovery, and cost us hundreds of thousands of jobs. That’s why Democrats, Republicans, business leaders, and economists have already said that these cuts, known here in Washington as “the sequester,” are a really bad idea.
Now, some in this Congress have proposed preventing only the defense cuts by making even bigger cuts to things like education and job training; Medicare and Social Security benefits."
Is that criticizing? Probably not. I think you were referring to the "criticizing" part of what Rubio said as being the lie. If not, then I misunderstood. If that is what you are referring to, then I would say calling this a lie is a bit of a stretch. However, in technical terms, it probably is.
I don't really ever want to get into what politician told which lie because believe me, I have proof of some whoppers Obama has told, i.e. "I will reduce the deficit by half by the end of my 4-year term." Politicians, both democrat and republican, can get creative with how they word a phrase. I don't argue that point at all.
My response to SSS and my frustration was more aimed at her calling ME at liar. If she wants to call me a liar, then tell me what I lied about.
Regarding Rubio Dunlapian, I will give you this one on technical merit, but I don't think his intent was to lie.
Well thank-you Pete, I'll take one on technical merit.
I'm still waiting for NTM8DOR to reply.
I'll check in later for his reply.

Well now...Why not make it $1000/hr and then everyone will be rich?!?!?

In his State of the Union address, Obama pressed to raise the hourly rate in stages to $9 an hour in 2015, up from the current $7.25,
Of course, He's assuming many in his voting base actually WANT a job.
Why would they work and come home tired for less?
You know, Nuh, you've really made a very good point. It should be raised to more $9.00 an hour.$9.00 an hour should be the starting Minimum to raise it to, THIS YEAR!

You just don't get it. All this will do is raise unemployment. Employers are only going to pay $9/hour if the productivity they get from it is worth $9/hour. It has no relation to what the poverty level is or isn't. If they have a job that can only justify itself at $8/hour, then raising the minimum wage will simply eliminate that job. If someone can't attain a level of productivity that is worth $9/hour, then they should go out and do whatever they need to fix that deficiency. Otherwise, minimum wage is another form of welfare that is privately funded for those employers choosing to maintain a low paying job, even with the increased minimum wage. Other employers will simply reduce employment to help pay for it. You keep focusing on the me, me, me, me part of it while totally ignoring what value you can give to an employer.

Not cute, just RIGHT! Why would anyone want to be politically correct when they can simply be...right? This is how we know stupidity is a "chosen" preoccupation.

You, for instance should become a weather forecaster. What else could you possibly do while being 90% wrong, about 90% of everything you say, at least 90% of the time? My God, your over qualified!

That's the same ole tired BS arguments that the Republicans start spouting everytime it's been raised! It's the one they put forth when Clinton raised it, and every time it was raised before Clinton, in my Lifetime! It's a LIE! It's NEVER happened and it won't happen this time. Most States have already raised Minimum Wage above the Federal Level a long time ago, and they haven't suffered one bit because of it! In fact, they have done better economically, than the States, like TN., that still go by the Federal Minimum Wage! SHOCK! SHOCK!

Oh boy, This one's going to be tough for them. You must understand, some are completely incapable of thinking in concepts, have never been responsible for a payroll and other challenges of keeping an enterprise solvent, are easily enlisted minions of rhetorical themes masterminded by the operatives of the socialist revolution in our country - no mater how obviously destructive they become, and are hateful of truth itself!

Its not a Republican thing, its a cost of doing business thing. If an employer's costs get raised, you either get higher pricing or some costs get cut. Sometimes cutting costs involves cutting employees. That's how businesses are operated. Since you said you had a business once, you should know this.
