Yes Crossville is in East TN but the author is talking about a little further east of Crossville. The URL above is talking points for a City/county website. Of course they are going to stretch the truth a little. Would anybody move there if the unemployment rate was 12% instead of 7.8%(national). They are going to do what is necessary to bring people in. I don't blame them for that but I do blame you for feeding online listeners false information.
By the way the previous tax info come from IRS. All other sites spin it to say what they want it to say.
Yeah, we got ya, CityData.com is a "liberal smear site."

Can you believe this??? Now, the Teapublicans are trying to poison all of us and have no doubt, they're getting paid highly to do it, by the Lobbyists and the Home Builders Industry they are hired by. This U.S. House is for sale to the Highest Bidder...and they've just taken Office!

"Congress Less Popular Than Cockroaches And Genghis Khan."

The little loved US Congress, fresh off its fiscal cliff budget crisis, is now less popular than cockroaches and lice, a survey released Tuesday found.

The Public Policy Polling survey of 830 Americans from January 3-6 revealed that Congress had hit new lows in the eyes of the same US voters who sent representatives to work there.

The legislative body proved less popular than traffic jams, Donald Trump, France, lice, Genghis Khan, cockroaches and used car dealers, the poll found.

Just nine percent of those surveyed had a favorable opinion of Congress.

“We all know Congress is unpopular,” said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling.

“But the fact that voters like it less than cockroaches… really shows how far its esteem has fallen with the American public over the last few weeks.”

"Glenn Beck Plans to 'Piss Everyone Off' By Relocating His hew York Staff In 'Blaze' Re-Launch."

Declaring himself to be "a lot closer to Penn Jillette than I am to Chuck Hagel," Glenn Beck announced on Tuesday that he'll re-launch The Blaze as an international libertarian news network. The revamp includes opening three bureaus in foreign cities that are "important to America," starting a new nightly news magazine show, and reocating his New York staff, currently based in Midtown, to a building that will "send a very clear message to everyone in New York... it will piss everyone off." Let us guess, the New York Public Library's Rose Main Reading Room?

"Gov't. Spent $18 Billion On Immigration Enforcement In 2012, Topping All Other Federal Officers."

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration spent more money on immigration enforcement in the last fiscal year than all other federal law enforcement agencies combined, according to a report on the government's enforcement efforts from a Washington think tank.

The report on Monday from the Migration Policy Institute, a non-partisan group focused on global immigration issues, said in the 2012 budget year that ended in September the government spent about $18 billion on immigration enforcement programs run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the US-Visit program, and Customs and Border Protection, which includes the Border Patrol. Immigration enforcement topped the combined budgets of the FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Secret Service by about $3.6 billion dollars, the report's authors said.

Since then-President Ronald Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986 — which legalized more than 3 million illegal immigrants and overhauled immigration laws — the government has spent more than $187 billion on immigration enforcement. According to the report, "Immigration Enforcement in the United States: The Rise of a Formidable Machinery," federal immigration-related criminal prosecutions also outnumber cases generated by the Justice Department.

The 182-page report concludes that the Obama administration has made immigration its highest law enforcement priority.

......and Sassy this is only the "Shot Over The Bow", so to speak.
Come to think of it, and I might be paranoid, but we have several computers in our household and just a few hours ago at 2:30 a.m.(Central) they all started sharing files......nobody was up, so I turned that feature off, when I got up at 4:30.

I thought of you when I posted that Article. You've been sounding the alarm for several months on Topix , as to what your fears are and it appears that you were right on the money.
As for your home computers, several People on Topix have been having trouble that they've never had before. Why? Who knows? But, things are getting alittle weird in cyberspace, it seems like. So No, I don't think that you're paranoid...I, too, think something is going on...I just don't know what nor who or what is responsible. It could be our own Gov't. testing something, which is fine with me, if it helps. My computer is the least of my worries and I would gladly sacrifice it, if it helps the Gov't. keep the important stuff safe, like our Power Grids.

Sassy, thanks for the "heads up", about other people having issues with their computers.

This new cyber-warfare has a very big battlefield. It would be foolish of myself to think that we are not on the battlefield. We all could be part of the collateral damage.

If the Wealthy paid their Fair share of Taxes, then we might have enough money to hire enough Food Inspectors to make sure that our Food supply is safe.
This is not a new problem, it's been goung on since Reagan's Administration, when he and the Republicans cut the Funding for the FDA's Food Inspectors and gutted the FDA's Authority...and the rest is history. "60 Minutes" ran a long Report on the problem because an FDA Good Inspector Whistleblower came forward , warning about all of the dangers we were facing and would surely happen because of it...he was right! And it 's only gotten worse over the years.
So, blame the "Global Economy" shift and the "Trickle down" economy shift and ALL who backed and participated in both! AND, Blame the Ones who will not Shift" all of it back to the economic theory that we had gone by since WWII, that allowed us to prosper and do so well as a People and as a Country...until 1980, when the Reversal of all that, was planned and ultimately implemented...and what we have today is the Result!
The top 10% of wage earners (the evil rich) pay 70% of the federal income taxes taken in. This means - that the bottom 90% pay only 30%. Yep. That's just not fair...not fair at all.

The arrogance of the Big Wall Street Bankers is truly astounding! What Planet do they live on???
They will need some Financial Help from the American Taxpayer, again, and it probably won't be that long off...and unless, it's kept a secret from the American People, that'll play He*l getting it!
I reluctantly backed the Bail-out before to save the Nation's Economy, as we were lied to and told the Nation would go bankrupt without it...but you see if I don't go beserk, if we EVER do it again! This just infuriates me! Talk about adding Insult to Injury!
The problem isn't really 'Big Wall Street Bankers' as much as it is the federal government taking tax money to bail out its hand-picked winners. Perfect example of socialism...with predicted results.

I haven't read "Atlas Shrugged" or "The Fountainhead", but I've read ABOUT them, as well as exerpts from them. Actually, I'm not quite sure that I want to read them...I might be tempted to set them on fire before I even got though the first couple of chapters. Lol!
I watched her once on "Phil Donahue", years ago, and that was pretty much enough for me! I didn't want to contribute to her Bank Account by buying her Books, nor make her any more popular. Little did I know that her popularity would zoom out of sight, in future Politics. Who would have "thunk" it?:)
Of course not - your open mind is only open to leftist ideology - if the content of a book fails to fit into the mold you have...it needs to be burned!!!

If they pay 70% of all the taxes collected, with their extremely low tax rate...that should tell you how much money they are really making and how much they really need to be paying in taxes AND that they could very well afford to do so, and not even miss it, nor would their Kids, Grandkids, Great Grandkids, and Great Great Grandkids, for about 5 generations past those. It should also point out to you in glowing terms how wide the wealth divide is between between the Average American and the Super wealthy. and they get the Lower Tax Rate, while the Average American gets the higher Tax rate and we won't even get into the tax Loopholes that only the super Wealthy can take advantage of. Yet, you see nothing wrong with this picture??? How blind can anybody be? It's not about the amount of taxes they pay, it's about the Tax RATE they pay being lower! 14% at the HIGHEST and what is YOUR Tax RATE? Mine was 28% when I was working, double what the Super Wealthy's Tax Rate is! Think about that...DOUBLE, twice the rate the Super wealthy pay, IF they pay anything at all, AFTER the Loopholes! and you're going to try and tell me that's FAIR??? It takes some HUGE cajones to try and sell that Line of Bullchit to me!

Don't you even go there with me! anybody that advocates taking EVERYTHING from everybody else and keeping it all for yourself is nothoing but a selfish, self-center Bit*h. but, she sure locked on to that Social Security as soon as she could , when she had preached against it the complete time, when she was raking in the dough, until she needed it and then, everything changed, didn't it?

By what she CLAIMED she believed, which she proved was all a Lie, but if you followed what she claimed to believe, you wouldn't even feed your own Kids, You would keep ALL of the food for yourself! Is that the kind of Person you want to be? I DON"T! I don't have it in me and Thank God that I don't!
Even dumb animals aren't like that! Nobody is born like that and if you turn yourself into that kind of a Selfish Monster, then you're not fit to live!
