USDA and FDA may as well be done away with. Food and food ingredients as well as medicines and their ingredients are coming into this country from Mexico and China in ever increasing amounts. Do you think the companies in these countries comply with U.S. regulations? Why would they? Look it up, they are on the honor system.
If the Wealthy paid their Fair share of Taxes, then we might have enough money to hire enough Food Inspectors to make sure that our Food supply is safe.
This is not a new problem, it's been goung on since Reagan's Administration, when he and the Republicans cut the Funding for the FDA's Food Inspectors and gutted the FDA's Authority...and the rest is history. "60 Minutes" ran a long Report on the problem because an FDA Good Inspector Whistleblower came forward , warning about all of the dangers we were facing and would surely happen because of it...he was right! And it 's only gotten worse over the years.

What was the national unemployment rate in January 2001? What was it in December 2008? What was the percentage difference? For extra credit, figure out the same percentage difference for the beginning of Obama's administration until now and let us know.
Ah you want to quote percentages. 2001 the unemployment was 4.3%. In 2006 it was 4.6%, 2008 it was 7.1% thanks to the dem/libs in the house and the senate. You did it to yourself. Lets see obama started 2008 and it 7.1%, 2010 8.4%, 2012 7.8% 2013 (Jan 7.8%) don't look like he did nothing for the unemployed during those years. Except put then on food stamps, and never ending unemployment, diability and of course PUBLIC WELFARE. HE DID GOOD!!!!!!!

Professional Educators of Tennessee will neither endorse nor reject legislative proposals concerning the arming of teachers in schools. We argue that we do not want the state to mandate educators having to carry arms or for that matter to prohibit them from carrying. It is a decision that should be made at the local level. We believe that large urban districts are likely to oppose, while rural areas will likely support. One size fits all will not work. The subject is very emotional, with good arguments coming from all sides.
We anticipate that the legislature will pass a law that empowers individual school districts to determine for themselves what direction they want to take, including qualified, certified and licensed volunteer school personnel going armed in their building. We plan to offer resources and support to districts as they make their decisions, so that whatever that decision might be it will be implemented properly and safely.
We also believe that if a district decides to allow armed teachers and administrators into the schools, the decision will not be made lightly. Volunteers who go armed in the schools will be well trained and highly qualified. We have heard from teachers around the state who are expressing their willingness to defend children. Several are ex-military and former law enforcement officers who are now classroom teachers.
Professional Educators of Tennessee strongly supports the retention and expansion of the School Resource Officer program. This is a highly effective program that serves many purposes during the school year and is invaluable where it now exists. Within the walls of schools in Nashville, for instance, SRO’s build relationships with both students and adults, building a sense of trust and security. The Metro Nashville Police Department provides these wonderful officers, and their presence is reminiscent of the popular “beat cops” of yesteryear. As a former principal, I would recommend this program to any administrator.
As Tennessee progresses into the future with improved school security, we also support posting additional guidance counselors to schools and advanced training for all teachers that will help identify problem students before a tragedy like Sandy Hook, Columbine or the Aurora theaters once again rears its ugly head. Any viable option that can lead to a safer environment in our schools and communities needs to be considered.
All schools need upgraded security, whether it is as simple and reasonable as inside locks on classroom doors, or teachers going armed. The legislature’s actions and the decisions that the districts make will impact the lives of all the inhabitants of school buildings across the state. Professional Educators of Tennessee stands ready to help them do it right.
Bill Gemmill is Professional Educators of Tennessee’s Director of Membership & Media. He retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools as a principal in 2010.

Ok if you took ALL the money from 2500,000 up it would only amount to 1.3 trillion. Just about as much as obama spends each year. OH, there would be no jobs available. Why would you work for no income. Go on welfare let the gov pay,. What are "YOU" going to do when the gov. runs out of my money??????????

The arrogance of the Big Wall Street Bankers is truly astounding! What Planet do they live on???

They will need some Financial Help from the American Taxpayer, again, and it probably won't be that long off...and unless, it's kept a secret from the American People, that'll play He*l getting it!
I reluctantly backed the Bail-out before to save the Nation's Economy, as we were lied to and told the Nation would go bankrupt without it...but you see if I don't go beserk, if we EVER do it again! This just infuriates me! Talk about adding Insult to Injury!

"Frontline" is one of , if not "THE" most highly acclaimed and Award-winning Documentary Programs ever on TV.

It has NEVER been disputed as to the accuracy of it's information. So, just because YOU don't like the truth, because it doesn't agree with the spoon-fed Drivel you get from Fox Fake News, don't even make yourself look like more of a Fool, by trying to attack it's accuracy nor it's reputation. That's all been checked by alot smarter People than you and they could not find anything inaccurate about it...nor denied by the Ultra-Conservatives!

So, take your Little Kindergarten comments about the Source and shove them! "Frontline" reports the TRUTH, on EVERY subject, whether you like it or not!
You might learn some TRUTH, if you would watch it...because you defintely don't know any TRUTH now and you won't learn it from Fox Fake News!

I thought Sarah Brady had passed away, but obviously, I was wrong! Maybe, it was Jim Brady that passed...or maybe, I just imagined it? Lol! I don't really know, but I could have sworn that I read quite awhile back that one of them died and I thought it was Sarah.

Thanks for providing the link to PBS. Noticed that bit about Alan Greenspan and his belief in Ayn Rand. Have you read "Atlas Shrugged" or "The Fountainhead"? Great books, a real vision, take it for what it is.

I haven't read "Atlas Shrugged" or "The Fountainhead", but I've read ABOUT them, as well as exerpts from them. Actually, I'm not quite sure that I want to read them...I might be tempted to set them on fire before I even got though the first couple of chapters. Lol!

I watched her once on "Phil Donahue", years ago, and that was pretty much enough for me! I didn't want to contribute to her Bank Account by buying her Books, nor make her any more popular. Little did I know that her popularity would zoom out of sight, in future Politics. Who would have "thunk" it?:)

Here is the Link to all of Frontline's programs, so that you can pick your choice. I love them all, just some alittle more than others. I've never watched one that bored me, even when I thought it would. as you can tell, I am a Huge Admirer of this Program.
