U.S. Nitrogen reapplying

Greeneville has 10 superfund sites and 246 tank and/or spill sites. Our local communities in this part of the country are rife with toxic chemicals. And now U.S. Nitrogen wants to stick it to the Nolichucky. The man on the IDB in Greeneville who sold his land to U.S. Nitrogen should be run out of town. Greeneville is almost as bad as Morristown when it comes to the aging white men who enrich themselves at the expense of the public.

Jaime, you are either ignorant to what these "qualified" people are trying t do, or a part of the problem.

US Nitrogen wants to build a pipeline from Midway to dump chemical waste into the Nolichucky River. And these so called "qualified people", that have clearly accepted payola, are all for it. What about that is positive to you? Do you want peoples well water to become undrinkable? What about the cattle and wildlife that drink that water? What about the probable increase in cancer cases this will bring? Do you care more about these "qualified people" making money, or the damage this will cause to your children and grandchildren? The people Greeneville, and neighboring counties should be outraged at what these "qualified" people are trying to do!

WGRV version of TDOT approval:

"TDOT Approves Pipelines For US Nitrogen

Saturday, August 2, 2014
by Jim Miller

A revised application to construct a pair of pipelines to deliver water to and from the US Nitrogen plant has been approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

The original application was denied in June after it was determined that the pipeline would be for the sole benefit of the US Nitrogen plant in Midway. However, the Greene County Industrial Development Board resubmitted the application last month with the stipulation that it would control the pipeline and allow access to other businesses in addition to US Nitrogen.

The proposed 12-mile dual pipelines would draw water from the Nolichucky River for cooling purposes at the US Nitrogen facility, then return treated water to the river. The estimated cost of the pipeline would be around $1.5 million, according to published figures.

Approval from TDOT was required due to the fact that the path of the proposed pipeline would pass under the right-of-ways of Fish Hatchery Road and Warrensburg Road, both of which are state highways.

US Nitrogen had been in negotiations with the Old Knoxville Highway Utility District to obtain its water. Although talks between the two sides had broken off, the option to get water from the utility remains open."

So, Samuel, why accept it?

Note WGRV fails to mention Midway/McDonald road, where most of the pipeline will run.
The IDB will control a pipeline as WGRV states? The Industrial Development Board can't even run a public meeting without the assistance of a goon squad.

US Nitrogen's CHEAP TRICK explained.
Please see detail in letter below on water, pipes' locations, the meter, the cost of the loan determined in June 2012

from Mr D Bible's May 2014 letter to TDEC,
via Save the Nolichucky Facebook website

"The part played by Mr. Douthat, again in my opinion, leaves him in the position, of “breach of trust by a public official” or conflict of interest”, and in either or both cases..acting on privileged information, unknown to the public.

I have made those allegations in asking for an investigation by the Fraud, Waste and Abuse Department of the State of Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, and have sent documentation to that effect.

I am enclosing for you verification of the “change of plans for the water needs “ of US Nitrogen, first published in the Greeneville Sun on February 7, 2014…..almost five months AFTER the Douthat –Freeark transaction.

You must remember that Justin Freeark is the SAME person that you are trusting to be truthful on the above noted water permit request. I think you will find that is also false in several respects.

On the bottom of the two attached sheets I am enclosing with this letter, you will find the true facts regarding Mr. Freearks statement that ”Old Knoxville Highway Utility District cannot supply an adequate continuous amount of needed water” to US Nitrogen.

That is simply not true. If US Nitrogen will sign the contract insuring that they will buy the supply of water that they say they need, Old Knox has everything in place to close the loan to build the larger pipeline needed. The master meter west of Greeneville is already in place on a 16 inch line with 180 PSI pressure. This is closer than the Nolichucky River…but it isn’t FREE!!

The loan amount was determined in June of 2012, and Old Knox was ready to proceed with construction of the pipeline. They only asked that US Nitrogen sign a contract to pay off the $3.5 million dollar loan, in the event that they defaulted on the water purchase. Otherwise they were to only pay for the water like any other customer of Old Knox Utility.

Also on this sheet is information CONFIRMING THAT THE Greeneville Water Commission sewer lines, with some upgrade to accept the increase in flow…can handle the US Nitrogen industrial waste water…treat it, and safely return it to the Nolichucky River. Again, it is not FREE !! Documentation for these facts is a matter of public record!
I am enclosing a map from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Code of Federal Regulations, showing the approximate five mile stretch of the Nolichucky River, a few miles DOWNSTREAM from the proposed US Nitrogen waste water outfall line, that is one of the last places in the United States that hosts the CRITICAL HABITAT for the endangered Oyster mussel. Ammonia is said to be lethal to this rare mollusk, remaining in only 21 counties in the entire U.S.

TDEC is asking us in Greene County to accept the issuance of these permits on a basis of US Nitrogen’s word, and their “self-reporting.”
Any 10 minute search on the internet will show you that both US Nitrogen and their planned partner YARA Corporation on the same site..HAVE A WELL DESERVED REPUTATION FOR LYING TO REGULATORY AUTHORITIES…BOTH IN THE UNITED STATES AND AROUND THE WORLD.
THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE ASKING US TO ACCEPT !!
I AM ASKING YOU TO UNEQUIVOCALLY DENY THESE PERMITS..NOW AND IN THE FUTURE !! "

Mr Bible gets my write in vote for county mayor and man of the year for many years to come. He writes clearly. Read his words.

US Nitrogen means high-paying jobs for hard-working, middle-class American families who live right here in Greeneville.
And if you don't like it, why don't you and your buddy Eddie Overholt take it and shove it out your pie hole.
US Nitrogen is going to contribute more to this area's economy than a bunch of white trash on welfare, so if you and Overholt hate Greeneville and America so much, why don't you do us all a huge favor and move back to Canada or France or California where you come from, you dimwit Liberal knucklheads.
so marthe, which do you like more, cookies or corruption? treats or treachery? decor or deceit?
