Howling Morman dog...

We have Morman neighbors who preach "good will and peace on earth" to all... but let their dog stay in it's kennel until late at night and it howls to be let in. How do I approach them to try to make sure the dog isn't left out in the dark and brought in the house earlier so the neighbors and I can have some quiet time ? They aren't real friendly to anyone who isn't of their faith... suggestions ?

What would you do if they weren't Mormon? Approach them like you would any of your other neighbors.

A great first step could be to learn to spell the name of their religious faith correctly. Good second step would be skipping the confrontation entirely and complain to the local police.

To make the item posted "easier for all",, I just called my neighbors Mormans. Here's the correct definition --- " Mormons are a religious and cultural group related to Mormonism, the principal branch of the Latter Day Saint movement of Restorationist Christianity, which began with the visions of Joseph Smith in upstate New York during the 1820s.... So I guess I would ask WWJSD ... What would Joseph Smith Do ?

Go get some goldish colored metal plates engraved with something that says something about taking your dogs in at night. Bury them in their back yard. Dress up in an angel costume and pretend your name is Gabriel. Go knock on their door, bring the man out to the hole, have him get the tablets, and be on your way.

The crappy part is, it's not illegal to keep a dog outside.

Why would being able to spell improve relations? Local police will not do anything other than go ask them to quiet the animal. Once they leave, it's up to the owners to keep it quiet. You can collect your complaints to law enforcement and take it to civil court. Either way, more effort than someone should have to put into having a quiet night at home.

Go hush that mut! And if you are going to troll, Outlaw, be tactful.
