All I know is this. People with tattoos and piercings and blue mohawks are SO MUCH more interesting than "regular" people. I mean THINK ABOUT how edgy and COOL and non-conformist you MUST be to get a tattoo.....WOW!

A nerd wouldn't get a piercing/tattoo.
A geek wouldn't..
A boring person wouldn't...

Why be a regular Joe when you can be DIFFERENT? You'll be so DIFFERENT and edgy and cool and rebellious and hip when you get your tattoo and your piercing. You'll really STAND OUT!

You'll be so different that you'll look just like every other two-bit doofus who has tattoos and piercings! You'll have joined a sub-culture (cue the Pixies song)and then YOU TOO CAN LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS who aren't as "kewl" as you are with your really bad-ass tattoo and piercing.

Like George Carlin said "Oh my, isn't that TOUGH? You got a PICTURE, a pretty little PAINTING of some barb wire on your bicep! WOW!!! Now everybody KNOWS this is one tough SOB."

You know, delusional thinking, magical thinking, whatever you want to call it. It doesn't go away with age. You'll still convince yourself of all kinds of stupidity, even after age 40.

The great thing about most of my bad decisions as a youth, is that they aren't visible for the world to see, in the form of some stupid tattoo or stupid piercing.

Face reality. You aren't tough. You aren't cool. You aren't special. If you want to do something really amazing, then don't get a tattoo or a piercing. Get the hell out of this dumpy town. Go someplace civilized and get a life!

Greeneville is a cesspool. Save yourself and don't make yourself look like the guy with the blue mohawk.

What does a tattoo, blue mohawrk or piercing SCREAM? Not that I'm different and cool bu that "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!!! I NEED YOUR ATTENTION SO BAD. I"M SO FREAKING INSECURE. LOOK AT ME AND MY TATTOOS.....AREN'T I INTERESTING?!?!?!"

No your not.....

I see you spent quite a bit of time ranting. This leads me to think one thing about your personality, it sucks. So what if people want to be different, who are you Hitler?

Only a closed minded fool equates a tattoo to a scream for attention. Many people have tattoos that are unseen during everyday life. I assume you we're writing this to the New York punk culture of the 1980's? I'll make sure they get the message.

you my friend are a total closed minded idiot. i have 4 tattoos and only one of them is visible. one means "peace" one is in dedication to my grandmother who died of cancer, one is a star because grandma used to call me her star and one is for my niece who at 2 years old had cancer. i alsso have 3 "odd" (as you would probably call them) piercings, a monroe, my tounge pierced and my industrial. i had them all done at craven ink (I LOVE CRAVEN INK!!!!!) and i had them done for only one person...ME. get your head out of your ass and realize that people who have tattoos and poercings are no different than you are they only express who they are in a different manner. oh btw...my 50 year old has tattoos and doesnt 't regret them at all. get over yourself.

Here's the thing, read the Health Inspection Scores and speak with an artist. No matter where you go to. Pick your artist by the portfolio and their willingness you help you get what you are wanting within reason. Everyone has their choice. Most local artists in the area are supportive of each other, I'm unsure as to why more people can't be. If you get a bad vibe, walk out and try another place. It's a permanent thing. But forming an opinion from other peoples bad experiences? Untrustworthy. Go and see for yourself. No body will hold you down and tattoo or pierce you against your will.

As to Craven since quite a few seem to want to be derogatory-- I'll leave this here and let the work speak for itself.

I've seen LOTS of Ratts work. It's good. Really good but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I guess I'll know it when I find it.

Half of my torso and arm are inked - Rat did it all. I spent around 15 hours there for all of my work. My sessions were always late in the evenings, so I witnessed some of the cleaning/sanitizing - they are very clean. For the dumbass that doesn't hire people with tatoos, I have a degree, a successful career, an extremely successful wife, and everything I want/need in life. I personally know dentists, RN's, cops, teachers, college professors, and other PROFESSIONALS WITH INK.

Personally I wouldn't go to Craven anymore for anything. I've had several piercings done by them that turned out crooked or just generally in the wrong place.
As far as piercings, they used to be $40,$60 for two. Do yourself a favor and take your business to Mythical Markings in Knoxville, or even Tattoos by Wayne in Jefferson City... Outhouse in Johnson City if Knox or Jefferson is too far for you.

Hey dumbass they are not going to pierce you anywhere but where you want them to so if they're in the wrong place your retarded ass wanted them there

I don't think you're really taking things into perspective. Yes, some people do get tattoos to fit in with a subculture. Some people feel better when they conform. Not everyone gets a tattoo or piercing for that reason, though. Despite what you say, tattoos and piercings are a form of self-expression. Body modification is just a way to make our outward appearance resemble our internal selves. Tattoos are a piece of art that lasts a lifetime. As you say, it shouldn't be taken lightly - it's a lifetime commitment - but if someone wants their body to be a canvas where a tattoo artist can create a masterpiece, they should be respected for that. If you don't like tattoos and piercings, don't get them. If you don't like Greeneville, leave. But don't judge people from up on your high horse and expect no one to object; there are people far more abrasive than I who would take offense at some of the things you've said.
