Face it, haters, it's sweeping the nation, and all of your bitter hatred can't stop it!

Delaware became the 11th state in the nation to allow same-sex marriage when Democratic Gov. Jack Markell signed a gay marriage bill into law just minutes after its passage by the state Senate on Tuesday.
"I do not intend to make any of you wait one moment longer," a smiling Markell told about 200 jubilant supporters who erupted in cheers and applause following the 12-9 Senate vote barely half an hour earlier.
"Delaware should be, is and will be a welcoming place to live and love and to raise a family for all who call our great state home," Markell said.
Delaware's same-sex marriage bill was introduced in the Democrat-controlled legislature barely a year after the state began recognizing same-sex civil unions. The bill won passage two weeks ago in the state House on a 23-18 vote.

Not unless they change the state constitution. Also, there are a lot more states that have constitutional amendments banning it then there are that allow it. So, I don't really see this as "sweeping the nation."

What I took out of this is that in a heavily Democratic state, the bill only passed by a 5 vote margin...

Published May 14, 2013

Associated Press

ST. PAUL, Minn.– Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has signed a bill that legalizes gay marriage, making the state the 12th to do so.

Cheering spectators filled the south lawn of the state Capitol for the outdoor ceremony, with rainbow and American flags fluttering in a sweltering breeze.

Dayton thanked legislators for political courage before signing the bill.

His signature came just a day after the state Senate approved it.
