Supervisors absolutely do it, they carry drinks around in their hands back in the DSP program. Flip flops are worn right in front of support staff and clients and has even been pointed out to the supervisors, supervisor. As far as the staffing issue, there's always going to be staffing issues in healthcare of any type. And simple, yes it would be if everyone had to follow THE SAME FREAKING RULES!
I just quit this crap hole is how I know exactly what I'm talking about. So there, now,surely you can pinpoint it now, no wait, you cant, people quit there everyday HA!

Comcare is the worst agency to work for. They do not care about there employees at all. If its not making them look good then it ain't happening. And as far as the whole food, phone, and flip flop shit...well it was ok for any management to do it but support staff could not what goes for one should go for all and as far as you should report any of this well I know a few did and nothing was said or done. Staffs words are me heard. And as far as the exit interview please that shit is the biggest joke I have ever seen and you say you can hold the checks well I checked into that and turns out you can't do that. But I know I am much happier with my new job and less stressed out. Well actually my stress is gone.

Comcare is a good agency.
A lax supervisor or two can be dealt with. If staff do not follow up with upper management and detail supervisory rules violations, then nothing will be done.
The people complaining about supervision make it sound like everyone in management abuses the system when that is actually far from the truth.

no, its the whole truth. Supervisors who come from staff turn into robots that com care wants everyone to be, truth be told your probably one in duty right now.and like many times said before... it does no good to report anything there.

I have been in this field for over ten years. I have an excellent work history and to be under 30 I have successfully climbed the managerial ladder. Comcare is a joke. Has been since Dr. Johnson was there. He used dumb practices and I suppose they just stuck. You could not pay me double what I make now to come work for that company. Whether it be from slackers or from employees who have just had enough their turnover rate is absolutely ridiculous. Don't think this hasn't gone unnoticed by the surveyers.

Ok so I used to work at Comcare and now work for another agency. Comcare has to be the biggest bunch of idiots I"ve ever seen, worked for, quit a job because of, the list goes on an on. What I dont understand is HOW they keep what employees they do have, and how do they keep clients? I know GVDC is desperate to place individuals, but heck, a dog pound would be better. Now grant you, there are a few good people there but most are jokes. What about that RN they have who thinks she knows everything and tries to run the show whether it pretains to her or not. She has to have her nose in everything. Not only does she think she has to run everything, she is clueless as to how thing really are.
The direct support staff and nurses that they do have are dedicated I can say that. They put up with stuff nobody should have to endure. Supervisors are all either backstabbers or brown nosers...sometimes both.
My advice to everyone who works there is this: FIND ANOTHER JOB! Have you not seen how people look at you when you tell them you work for Comcare? Eyebrows raise, eyes roll, lips curl. It's because the reputation got there before you did and minds are made up. Sad part is this, they're usually right

supervision of supervisor are needed more than direct staff support. I've seen dress code violated by more upper management than anything, lack of communication is a big thing there also.

the bottom line here is if you need a job go to comcare cause 9 times out of 10 they're going to hire you because they have no standards. They'll take anybody. But don't expect to enjoy working there and don't get too comfortable because it probably won't last long.

9 times out of 10 you won't be hired. They drug test, do a complete background check, actually check your references, verify that you have car insurance in your name, check to see if you're a HS graduate.....ya see....that eliminates 90% of the slackers right off the bat.

I worked for Comcare for a year and a half the last month I was there I worked in a house that had all tube feeds one had seizures one had seizures and would try to pull his tube out and flip over his chair because it was fun and the other would puke and occasionally pull out his tube for attention. I was working at this house by myself with nurses (who couldn't help reposition, change briefs, etc. per nancy theissan) and would get a floater for 2 hrs a day while having to reposition change briefs and do showers all within 8hrs. On top of that I started having to do 6 and 9pm meds at a house about 10-15 mins away. The last week I was there I got written up for not doing the laundry got suspended for 2 days with no pay come back the following week got written up again for the nurses leaving dishes in the sink and not being at my assigned work area because I was at the office but had permission got out on suspension with recommendation of termination and ended up being fired. I never mistreated a client and any client I was taking care of was well taken care of but I got fired for petty stuff. When another staff I worked in a house with left one client in pissy pants for who knows how long, shut a clients hand up in the door, and left another client asleep in the van with all doors shut during the summer and he was supposed to be line of sight when outside because he was unsteady outside all of this was reported and nothing got done about it. So Comcare is a shitty place to work I'm actually glad I got fired
