Ms. Bowman when she went to SGHS had one goal, to destroy the Lady Rebel Basketball Program. She has succeeded. They should promote her to Superintendant because she produces results.

You SG people are losing it. Your previous coach Dyer took your team to the state 2 years in a row and you gave him hell. Now your chosen ones are losing and it is somehow your principal's fault? I was there tonight and your coaching staff had no clue. It seems pretty stupid to start a thread like this one, but stupid does as stupid is.

The two teams who went to the state were big under achievers just like the GHS teams with the Manuel girl were big under achievers. The two SGHS teams you are talking about had the best point guard in the state, the quickest, toughest most talented small forward and a post player who could have been one of the best at SGHS and they stumbled and fail. Why? The players cried to their parents the coaches were mean to them. The parents cried to the Principal who instead of putting them in their place made an issue of it and the result was under achieving teams which probably was what Ms. Bowman wanted to happen. She has been pretty consistent at SGHS in tearing down the girls' basketball program. It is not the coaches fault, they are doing their best under extremely difficult circumstances. Whenever you have kids, parents and administrators running a program, you have no program. If you want to see where the problem lays within the team, go back to the volleyball team who were definitely over achievers. Look at the girl who is on the basketball team but not on the volleyball team and her family and relationship with Ms. Bowman and you have nailed the problem on the head.

What Larry Ricker brought to SGHS Cindy Bowman has taken away. Coach Ricker once said the players and parents and administrators were different than he first began coaching and as usual he was right but the main difference is the administrator. Cindy Bowman is just not right for SGHS. She did a job and she did it quite well, now promote her and get her the hell out of the south end of the county.

As far as what is wrong on the floor with SGHS's girls' team it has been obvious from the beginning of the year, no post game. Early they tried three guards, Cutshaw, Ricker and Shaw and that combination was the best three guard front I've ever seen at SGHS but you don't win championships without a post game. So they began to force the ball inside trying to establish a post game. Post players would be standing with their hands hanging down as ball after ball flew past them and when one did happen to hit them in the hands they fumbled it. Look at the stat sheets lots of turnovers credited to the guards but actually the posts' fault. You must be tough, agile and extremely hard working to be a post player and at present SGHS doesn't have it consistently. Give the coaches credit they have experimented with several variations but none have worked for more than one game at a time. There are two post players who are too lazy and self-centered to ever perform consistently, not hate just fact. Considering the circumstances I would forget about goals this year and build a team that can win in the future. Go small with the three guards used at the beginning of the year and bench the two lazy posts, sit them next to the gatorade bucket, use the smaller, quicker posts and up tempo the games, take some 20 point grubbings but build a future. I suspect SGHS present politics will prevent this but one can always hope.

Are you stupid, drunk or just ignorant? I don't care for Bowman but Coaches Gregg and Ricker are calling the shots at the games my family is attending. Granted i too wish we could blame this mess on something or anyone else. Its been a let down for all us fans. Fans and families will put up with their loved ones not getting to play and even the favoritism when the team is winning. HOWEVER, the natives are growing restless at this mess. There isn't any leadership either. My family has been loyal fans for years and this is one of the most selfish teams we have ever seen and the coaches are not correcting it. In fact they are making it worse. Hard to believe.

Bowman doesn't stand a chance in you know where of being the director if that is what you are saying. We have a great director finally and as long as the board members dont get to thinking to highly of themselves or trying to go out onf their own things have finally settled down. So the board had better stick to business or they could find themselves where the Knight lady is. For a long time I defended Knight but she never took up for herself. If your innocent you need to take up for yourself.

I have read your posting several times and, it just seems that you might be high or something. I am not trying to be mean but your statements just do not make any sense. Like this one. I thought the world of Larry and every time someone brings his name up it makes me angry. Allow him to rest in peace. Like a lot of us he dealt with his own demons while on this earth. Now for Bowman. I don't care for her either and she is not worth my time or attention. You seem to be obsessed with her. Are you stalking her? You seem to be watching and trying to determine what her every move will be. She's just a person. My whole family was very glad when we saw who the coaches were going to be this year. Sorry to say, things aren't looking good and you just can't blame everything on someone else. If you are going to take on a job then you need to be able to take responsibility for the good and the bad. I am willing to bet had things been going well then that would all be because of the coaches and nothing to do with anyone or anything else. By the way I know from experience if the coaches aren't likable there isn't much success. Larry had a love/hate relationship with the girls and that adds up to success. I could go on and on but quite frankly this is getting boring. I wish folks would just let these threads die. It would be better for SGHS and the coaches. But as long as people continue to write stupid stuff a person just has to add their two cents sometimes.

A friend told me about this post. Now you are blaming only certain team members for the losses. Man you need to just shut up. After much reading over and over, it is becoming clear just who you are. Sure hope you are not using work time to post? It must be so hard having perfect kids LMAO. That's what is wrong there not any more perfect than the others. You better watch talking about others loved ones. Lazy, what about BALL HOGS!!! Two of the players are sooooooo very busy trying to rack up points that they cant and dont see players when they are open. Gotta get there quota in boys!!! I could go on and on but then that would make me as pathetic as you. Another thing I am not sure what one of your post is saying about a certain players family but you had better hope if you are talking about a player whose family is kin to a board member and the coaches are jerking that little girl around because they dont like her, I hope they come after you with all they got. Any coach who would be mean to a kid because they don't like their family needs to never darken the door of a gym again. Children cant help who there family is. You are the coward and you better quit talking about these kids, they have families to.

People this last post is the first time I have posted. Stole some lines from my friend's post. I guess thats sad. All in all it felt pretty good to vent but now that it is done it also feels a little childish. As a grandmother I think I get more angry about my grandkids than I did about my kids. There is just something about a grand child. So forgive me. I am not saying that what I wrote is not true I just should not have talked about any one elses children or grand child. May God forgive me.

I cannnot believe how mad I have gotten over the not being fair to my grand child. If other grand parents are on here, do you find yourself getting more angry over your grand kids than your kids? I sure hop I am not the only one.

i address this to mad at meadow creek. you are starting to get attention and although i can see your purpose/why would you do this? actually talking so negative about chosen kids is not going to help anything. i haven't heard anyone say much yet about the coaches. most everybody will understand a year to get things on track but they won't take kindly to bashing their children specially when it seems to be coming from someone who knows a lot about the game/hint hint. these kids can't seem to get a break and i feel sorry for anyone who gets on topix and writes such cruel things about ball players. they don't know or care about the politics/they are busy worrying about boyfriends, hair, makeup and all that goes with being in high school. this post sounds like it might be from a coach/or at the least one of family members of the kids who you are giving such praise to/hint hint. PLEASE don't say anything else negative about a bb player, PLEASE.

U people are like notre dame fans, ur sense of entitlement us hilarious. Larry neal was a decent coach then he turned into a sob. I love the post we had the best point guard in state and etc... u can't treat kids like he was at the end and expect to get results. Be happy making it to the state tournament and accept their are other schools that can play ball also.

Underachievers? Derek was one game away from going to state his first year and took the team to the state the next two years, al the while losing players each year. How dare Bowman, parents and the like cause this to happen. We only lost two players. You need to put on your big girl undies and quit making excuses for what we are going through this year. Its a worn out song. I believe Gregg and Ricker will do okay without you trying to make excuses. I know Chris would never blame someone else for this year so far or however it turns out. He's a bigger man than that. I will tell you this though, there r some people [fans, parents and families] who aren't happy. There is where they may have some problems.

I agree I don't believe Chris Ricker would ever make excuses but I also believe Chris Ricker knows where his team's trouble lies both on the floor and out of the gym.
