well mister hignin mighty what did you play with when you were 9?? beside your little ding dong? Pretty panties are FINE for a 9 year girl, maybe not 5 or 6 but by age 9 they want feel pretty and cute too, it's like dress up when tey have sexy panties they feel like "a big girl", doesn't mean they have to have sex yet. it's like the magazine that said, sexy doesn't mean sex.
I believe around that time I was going through my Pound Puppies phase, actually. I certainly wasn't concerned about how sexy my panties were.

Hell, I'm still not that concerned about it.
hope its helpful

i'm 18, and when i was 9, i was crazy about the backstreet boys. haha. i have younger cousins and i work with people who have older kids and grand kids. movies are great. maybe just flavored lip gloss, like their favorite candy or something. bath and body works & pj's sound good too. i think it's crazy that 9-10 year olds walking around with ipod touches and cell phones better than mine are crazy! i didnt start wearing make up until i was in high school. idk, maybe my parents just raised me differently. i didnt even start looking at boys until 7th grade? never had a relationship until high school.

For some reason my daughter keeps asking for multi colored duct tape. I guess its the new thing. She puts it on everything. I see it on other girls too. BTW she is 12. Yes I lke the arts and crafts idea the best.

Its very hard shopping for my niece and my littlest (13) of sisters. The easiest thing you can do is be in their presence (no pun intended!) and listen to what they say... Case in point: The "Hot" thing, imho, is the store Justice. Stores like this and Clairs are good ideas if it fits the kid. In my case, my niece loves that store Justice. One of my many (4) younger sisters is a total nerd. She was floored I got her a keyboard for her Asus Transformer Prime. You wont know what to get the children you care about if you don't spend time and understand them. Just make sure you don't get a "landfill" gift. No one likes them! As for the dude who built the dollhouse, that might have been a good idea if it was a "Monster High" dorm house!
Cheers!

Something I am planning on buying this year are nice quality charm bracelets. I am getting them for my daughters and granddaughters. Then over the years as their interests grow, I can buy charms to add to them that represent their interests, their faith and my love for them.

Panties, piercings, and posters of teen heartthrobs. Okay. Wow. Why I don't just take her out for drinks and a lapdance at the Chippendale Club? The kid is turning NINE, people.
Sigh. I guess I was thinking of something more like whatever the current fad toy is? Like, when I was little it was Pogs. And in then middle school it was Tamagotchi eggs... EVERYBODY had to have a Tamagotchi egg.*I* never had one, because I was dorky and poor and had to play outside in the dirt with a stick. Which might explain some of my current neuroses, but anyway...
the girl is turning nine the piercings are a bit much okay a lot much so let them grow up and get them gift cards God people

I'm 11 and I know plenty of 8-9 year olds and I don't think they want that older stuff. One of my best friends sister who's 8 loves clothes, creative things, decorating and dancing, playing n iPods and iPads

Grab a shirt with her fav color on it, a cute little make up kit and a set of bright, multicolored nail polish... I guess this may be where women are different than men... But the first question with the invitation... "what do they like/what are they into?"... I was never a girly girl and the arts would've worked with me, so every child is different. Good luck!

A 9 yr. old isn't really a tween I'd suggest get her a gift card for tickets to the new theatre And take her to dinner at Fatz or something nice like the Butcher Shop you could even rent her a limo and have girls day when she gets older but for now I 'd get her one them Cabbage Patch Dolls or Bratz dolls or the sets witb dress up clothes or twenty dollars so shecan put all her money together and buy something nice

I got earrings (the ear lobe kind) at age 5. I don't know about three piercings on each ear, nose rings, and belly button piercings. I don't intend to be rude, but if I had a daughter, I would give her posters of cute kittens/puppies, art supplies, electronic games or computer games, an iTunes gift card, cute earbuds/earphones, a pet they want (possibly, bigger pets like dogs and cats can be expensive) Cute dresses (not too skimpy), earrings,(if ears are pierced)

This is my opinion, though. Sorry if I offend anyone in any way.
