If nitrogen would pay Greene County, 1 pennie for every gallon of water that they draw out of the river, we wouldn't have a budget deficit. I hope our county commissioners here of this. But me personally hope they can't get water from the river. But if they do make them pay.

so is old knox utility gonna sue or not? they got some sorta legal obligation to sue but this being greene county and all they sure don't want to go up against the big boys of the industrial dev board. i mean that would be like cutting their own throats, asking to get arrested even for cuttin they own throats. i mean lets hurry up and rip up midway mcdonald road and plow through those creek crossings. gonna be fun. and fun is what industrial development is all about. the road right of way should benefit two private corporations. let's start the big dig. aint the contract already signed sealed and delivered. whats keepin em. lets dig it all up. an then lets go sniff some ammonium nitrate. an what we dont sniff the fish will drink like water.

Darling, it looks like Old Knox is suing! The driveways, the fences, the school and church and cemetery and store....the heavenly old cedars.....the creeks......they all get a little vacation (probably temporary and short lived) from destruction. Enjoy it while it lasts. Look at it and love it before US Nitrogen and Haslam's little helpers, the little rich business boys of the county, win the suit and send the countryside and the river to hell in a handbasket. See if you can find out if the judge has been bought and paid for. It's always the "paid for" role that is a stumbling block for a corrupt Tennessee judge.

this nails how the gvegas mafia works, without once using the word mafia.

from a commenter on the Save the Nolichucky page:

"I just saw in the Greeneville Sun where the Chancellor [Chancery Court, Jenkins] has dropped The Partnership from the earlier lawsuit. Everybody in Greeneville knows The Partnership and the Industrial Development Board which is hidden in The Partnership is the actual Government of Greeneville and Greene County. That lawsuit is probably dead now. Interesting the corruption in Greene County Government is actually planned legalized corruption. It came out in the decision that the reason the Partnership was not subject to the open meetings laws was that they met with Greene County Commissioners individually and not as a whole group or committee of the Commission. Planned Legalized Corruption."

Wanna be powerful in local govt? Meet with individuals, not groups. The group thing is for show only, and sometimes it's even a good reality show, like the IDB board meeting in July where Eddie got arrested. Thanks Marvin for the above quote, especially "planned legalized corruption." Hope you don't object to my reposting it here. Reality needs all the help it can get, before the partnership of pump and dump (along with destruction of the right of way, and destruction of state right of way law) becomes the new normal.

The president of the Partnership said he was elated with the decision. I wonder how he would feel if he was indicted for corruption by a grand jury. He needs to go!

Does the partnership not have quorum rules, about who and how many should be present when partnership business is discussed? Minutes of those meetings to be maintained? Evidently not. The Chancellor's decision frees the partnership to conduct ever more business behind doors and in private, with no record. Any public meetings conducted will be window dressing, with previously arranged agendas and decisions already in place. The current crop of commisioners will probably feed/buy right into it, as did the crop that was just booted out. The partnership has had nearly 3 years (since the lawsuit was initiated) to come up with their story (their shady excuse) and shred all evidence (and memory) of any wrongdoing. The corporate business friendly future is wide open to them, to deal for themselves, to themselves.....land sales, rezoning, violating existing law for the benefit of private limited liabilty corporations, generous subsidies and tax giveaways, whatever it takes. Impossible to indict someone/an organization for corruption, much less prove it, in such a hidden (with the blessing of the law) environment.

And if you stand up and try to change anything you will get Concrete Time.
I advise you to sit back, drink your ammonia-water, and pray that the Mafia doesn't decide you need some Concrete Time, too.
US Nitrogen wants to pipeline McDonald Road, and look, they've adopted McDonald Road! Isn't that the sweetest thing, like adopting a puppy. US Nitro is so cute! Preservation of our county's natural beauty! My conscience explodes, but the Sun reports the PR handout without a glimmer of a smile. Do I laugh or cry as I swallow alcohol with an ammonia chaser (drinking with the Governor) at the Gen Morgue Inn? Oh, and, call the GC Partnership if you want to adopt a road.

"Keep Greene Beautiful has announced that US Nitrogen has adopted McDonald Road as part of the Greene County Adopt-A-Road program.

According to a news release, the program provides individuals or groups like US Nitrogen "the opportunity to become involved with the preservation of our county's natural beauty by picking up roadside litter on at least a quarterly basis."

Participants in the program agree to adopt their road for one year. When the year has ended, they will have the opportunity to adopt their same road, based on their participation during the past year."
