He's probably the first person in Greene county to realize that passing the bar doesn't mean just driving past one.

No disrespect for this particular gentleman's accomplishment, but really, in the local paper? Our local paper is a fine example of biased print, as I am certain that this family showed some green to get the story published, otherwise, the editor of the Sun needs to be fired for such a rediculous article being printed that would only be of interest to a very small group (this young man's family). Who subscribes to the Sun? I would guess that their average subscriber age is 50+. Which would lead anyone with any business sense the conclusion that the print section of the Sun will cease in the next few years due to a dying demographic. Further, they have yet to get up to speed with their e-paper. The online version lacks content, which is the only thing that could drive advertising. In addition, they don't allow comments. Look at the traffic here on Topix. A similar format on their site would lead to a very substantial web traffic expansion. Wake up Greeneville Sun, look around.

I agree, the Sun is a joke. I would encourage people to cancel their subscription and maybe they would either wake up, or a competitor would come into play. The Sun is a waste of trees.

The Sun will always shine on Greeneville with tales of wrecks and arrests, news of ball games, obituaries and puff pieces, and Billy Graham's channeling Jesus. The Media Empire is stronger than Samson. And we don't want no backtalk from the proles, with their electronic devices and all.

I think the biggest problem with the paper is that there just aren't enough news stories here to fill 6 papers a week. They can't print rumors, so they are left with not much news to report. WGRV covers it all a few minutes a day. Newspapers are businesses that exist to sell advertising. The content is there just to get numbers to justify ad rates.

wonder why they never mention his dad? I guess the mom moved away from Greeneville and thinks she is too good to mention the dad.
