Cold and lonely? Sorry, that's a personal choice you have total control over and you can certainly change your situation.(-:

I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!!! Last night I even thought about how awful it is to come home to a cold, dark & lonely house. I even used those very words. So, don't beat up on yourself too bad. I'm as pitiful as you. Lol

I have so much to offer. I'm an educated female, I have a beautiful home, nice car, people say I'm attractive, sweet & funny but I don't think I could convince a homeless man to date me at this point. I'm told that men around here are intimidated by my type. WHATEVER THE HELLLLLL THAT MEANS! I would just love to have some companionship occasionally but they want no part of me. I'm sorry you are having these issues too. Welcome to my boat. Shall we take turns paddling?

Get out in the "real" world, meet people, find the right person that you're compatible with. They're out there but you have to go out to find them...and to be found.(-:

I absolutely disagree. She could be a fabulous person with a lot of great qualities & men just won't give her the time of day no matter what she does or doesn't do! Trust me, I know! These words come from a woman who is ecstatic that a mythological creature named Big Foot has posted threads promising his big hairy self to her.

Ahhhh, but how will she know, honey, until she gets out and about? If she sits at home with "cyber space" as a substitute for the "real world", she'll never what's out there.(-:

I'm sure I am going to get reamed for this but when I was younger and not yet on medication I loved being alone. There was something about coming home to a cold dark house that was comforting to me. It wasn't that I didn't like people, it was just that I felt so right by myself. Of course I was in my mid-20s. It might be different know. Somedays I long for that again. Not that I don't love my family. I would give my life for them. But I have always deep down been a loner. I read a saying once "He who is content in solitude is either a god or a beast." I know I am not a god.

Once again, I disagree. I'm out throughout the day doing my job, eating out at lunch, & away from cyberspace. Men seem to admire me; however, there are very few men who are age appropriate for me. They have all told people words to the effect that I'm overqualified. I try to be friendly, smile & say hello if it's appropriate. I almost never have a single man show the slightest bit of interest in me. I might actually reveal who I am to you just to prove it isn't me!!!

Without telling too much, how old are you, give or take 5 years?

I don't doubt you nor do I dispute your word...I never have, sweetie. You know, I'll admit I was thinking about you today while I was running, kind of wondering why a girl that professes so much is having such a hard time finding the "right' guy. So, what actually IS the problem, honey? Is it something that's perhaps magnified in your mind that everyone else isn't seeing? Is it a self perception issue? What? I've told you I like you, I think you're a great person from what I've "read" but something is obviously missing somewhere. I'd love to help you find what it is, honey. Really!

My male & female friends say men are probably intimidated because I'm supposedly pretty smart. Men seem to always want someone with a seemingly lesser job & education. You do recall my way way earlier commentary about having to dumb it down. I've met men who seemed to really like me & then it all changes once they figure out I have "more whatever". It's so unfair & downright insulting to be alone because THEY have insecurities. I'm nice to everyone no matter their job, education level, what kind of car they drive or where they live. I'm not perfect but I'm accused of being genuinely nice to everyone. I must go wash my hair on one of my three extra heads & get my sixth eye fit with a monocle so please excuse me for a moment.

Thank you. I have always wondered, and had you figured for about that, based on your "spunk." I really enjoy your posts, because they are always witty and intelligent. You remind me of Myst Defy, who seems to have disappeared, or morphed into other characters.

I suppose you and I differ on some of those points as I DO take into consideration one's standing and accomplishments in life. As I've mentioned before, I give as well as I get and I won't settle for less after having sacrificed and achieved what I have in my lifetime. Not even for the sake of "love" or something resembling it.(-:
