He is incompetent. He does not know how to handle a government meeting. He has lost control and confidence of the commission. He has produced a debacle without producing the person who started it unless of course he started it himself which is highly possible. He has acted as accuser and judge a conflict of interest way beyond anything Commissioner White came close to. His removal could only help the county to somehow regain its composure. He should resign but he is too ignorant and stupid to do so.

According to the Greeneville Sun, White voted to move funds in the school budget prior to his company winning a contract to use those funds. Hindsight, that might be conflict but at the time it took place no, cause he had no way of knowing who would win contract. Alan Broyles should be removed.

Our county commission can only be as good as its leader and we are in big trouble. The mayor just spent some where in the neighborhood of $7000.00 dollars of our tax money to pay an attorney to persecute one of his own commissioners. This is not the action of a rational leader. He now is heading the move to build a new multi million dollar jail. Can he really be trusted to make wise and intelligent decisions in these kind of matters. I don't think so. His actions and behavior at the last county commission meeting were competely irresponsible and irrational.
May be its time.

Question: Commissioner Tim White "did know" he was bidding on a "school" job? That's all one needs to know. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you are going to bid on these kinds of jobs, then GET OFF THE COMMISSION!!!! It ain't rocket science.

I'm just a poor tax payer who would like to retire before I'm 90. I don't trust any of the commissioners any more. David Crum and Hoot Bowers have let the Republican party down terribly. MIA at a very important tax decision is shameless and spineless in this old man's opinion. As for Waddle and that bunch, well my Momma would shoot me if I said those kinds of words here. I don't appreciate the Greeneville Sun talking for those who live in communities either. Everyone did not vote for Tim and everyone is not believing his bull crap either. I think the next election will shut some of these people up. Lookin forward to it.

Legally, you are wrong on both counts. One, a limited liability company bid on the contract and not Tim White. Two, a county commissioner voted on the movement of funds and not Tim White an individual. In both cases Tim White was protected from legal liability as a person. This was a manufactured deal from the start. Alan Broyles cooked it up and it backfired in his face. He is useless now without any integrity, he should resign and if not he should be impeached and thrown out. The next election should have been where Tim White was held accuntable and not this vigilante justice of Alan Broyles and the Idiot 7.

I think the people that elected these commissioners should of been the ones to vote on this matter. It's obvious that we have friends voting for friends, on either side of this issue. Since all of this has come up, our commissioners will be like our senate. Nothing will ever get accomplished now. Even if they do agree on things, they'll disagree now just to piss that person off. All of you commissioners need to remember: We the people.

Get real. Unless someone knew that Mr. White was one of the owners of A and W Farms. How would board members, or other commissioners know what the A and W stood for. Only he, or other people who knew that would know what the initials stood for. When questioned about the bidding process, the school central office told the commission that representatives from companies bidding, attend those bid meetings all the time. So how can you know whether that representative is an owner or just a representative of that company bidding unless they tell someone that? Property tax owners look out, when a few board members, and a few commissioners can get in your pocketbook to promote their personal agendas we're toast....... 15 or 16 people decided to take your hard earned dollars and give themselves a raise. That's unamerican....my understanding is that all that money went for raises.

Broyles was a substitute teacher, lunch room monitor and coach at Mosheim Elementary in my days of school. He was a hot head then, maybe he's mellowed out since, and even as a young child, I was able to see that Broyles was completely incompetent to monitor a lunch room. To the best of my recollection, that was his primary job. I can see that little has changes and Broyles is still showing his incompetence.

I am perfectly real. A commissioner owns stock in Lowes. He or She votes on the county budget. The county purchases a lot of stuff from Lowes. The commissioner gets a dividend from Lowes. Is the commissioner guilty of conflict of interest? Under Alan Broyles and the Idiot 7 rules, yes, under the laws of the land ,no. This all was manufactured to punish Tim White for his vote on the property tax. Alan Broyles should resign or be thrown out and the whole process should be turned over to the Tennessee Attorney General for possible civil rights violations and criminal prosecutions. It is against the law to intimidate or punish a commissioner for their vote.

It all goes back to the same ol same ol too long a term for the same ol good ol boys that the longer they are in office the more control they gain. The limit should be two terms consecutive or not from the president right down to the local sheriff.

What about in the city government ... Alderman Darrell Bryan is the director of the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, a publically funded institution. Is that not a conflict of interest? what's the deal here?

Tim, your bullsh*t line of reasoning may have worked with the mellowheads last night, but the public ain't buying it. Mayor Broyles performed his duty as would be required of anyone of his position. He was very careful and methodical in his approach to the potentially damning issue. You are sadly mistaken if you think this is behind you, for it will haunt you the rest of your life. Unfortunately, you have made infamous history for all law abiding Greene County Citizens to reflect back upon perhaps for the next two generations at least. These kinds of actions don't die out quickly in the minds of the people. Know this: from now on, anytime anyone is caught or simply accused of wrongdoing in a public position, your name will be referred to in an unfavorable way. You believe now that you have won a victory. What you do not realize is that you and your ardent misguided supporters have put a (another) very large black eye on our County. Once again (as with Hawk), Greene County is the laughingstock of East Tennessee. Just a bunch of dunces who can't get anything right. When you actually realized that what you had done was not according to the standards, you should have gone to your knees, pleaded ignorance, asked for forgiveness, pledged to take continuing education classes in the Code - but no - you continued your pathetic selfish self-preservation act right up and until the end, when the weak willed, spineless, ignorant followers of your rant succeeded in slaping all the Citizens in the face. You think this is over, and maybe it is as far as the public arena goes - but the public will never forget that you got paid by the public treasury (their money) to do a job, with profit I have to assume, and you, sir, voted to supply the very money you were paid with. That's the point. And if you do not get it now, or if the public simply gives you a pass - then you single-handedly have taken the entire board down yet several more notches. It is no wonder that intelligent, thoughtful, reasonable, principled individuals do not seek to serve on the board of bozos. You sir, have made a laughingstock of the entire process, thus damaging our county for many years to come, all so you could pocket a few extra thousand bucks. Shame. Shame on you, shame on your supporters, and shame on all those who continue to believe that you are a man of character. For I have known many men and women of character in my life - and I do not, nor will I ever, count you or your supporters on the commission among that list. Think of this, the rest of your life, whenever you look in your own mirror.

Your logic is irrational! The editor of the newspaper said the ethics code and TCA applied here. I will vote for the lawful 7 next time. Liberals give away "stuff" to get favors and votes, make a mess and then leave things for conservatives to clean up. This is the way it's always been and always will be.Reagan had to do it after Jimmy Carter, Bush after Clinton, and someone else after we make the mess we're in now bigger.. Evidently (by a big majority) MR. Broyles keeps getting elected. It scared the fire out of this county after the last democrat mayor was in office. Nope I plan on working against every commissioner that voted to raise taxes for raises, and the ones that can't even admit something when it's obviously not right. It happened once in this last election, and can happen again in two years. Greene County we hold the future to the success of this county. Not the elected officials.

May the Good Lord Bless the men of few these days who stand for what is right. Guys He is the ONLY one you need to worry about.
My biggest regret is that I didn't vote for Ted Hensley instead of David Hawk.

Actually, the commission voted to appropriate the money AFTER it was made known publicly that Tim White's company had the low bid.

I hope this whole county punishes all the board members and county commissioners who voted for the property tax increase to give raises and increase benefits to their families and friends. Most all who voted for this increase had conflicts of interest. Enjoy the extra money you have at Christmas while the rest of us that didn't or haven't gotten raises, and yes, pay for the biggest part of our insurance do with less. Mark my words they will be back next year with a deficit.

The best way to punish those elected officials is to send them home in 2014.........
