I'm glad your Father was okay on pred, but I assume that (1) as you say is was "for awhile" opposed to over 18 months as for my husband and (2) that for whatever reason he was on it, he was able to stop taking it. My husband is not.
ive been on it for 31 years, and believe me it does alot of damage to your body, it eats your bones

I know this thread is old... but the other day I pulled into Parking spot a couple of spaces away next to a Handicap parking spot at Wallmart. Of course I had to answer a text...I dont text and drive,,,so I waited till I parked to answer....but...this big nice SUV pulled into the handicap parkin space next to me...some BIG lady with a cigarette hangin out her mouth...that she was alternating what looked like a hamburger and fries stuffin her fat face..and then what appeared to be a honeybun...she stuffed all this down in about 2 minutes. I just couldnt help watching!! Then... she gets out... and so did I... to go in the store. She waddles in...gets onto one of the motorized ride thing.... and promptly plows right into some young girls buggy that was sitting still while the young girl was looking at something. the young girl said.."oh..Im sorry... I'll move my buggy." The cow on the motorized thing said "Well I wish you would"!! Well... by this point I was just already so disgusted with her fat a__... the poor little girl just looked at her...then at me...and so I had to open my big mouth...and said to the cow..."Hey...u ran into her,,,wasnt her fault your fat ass cant drive the FAT BUGGY". Then she procedes to yell at us about how she was on disability cause she was "down in her back"... "Well DUH!!! wonder why" was my smart ass response...I shoulda just kept my mouth shut and minded my own business...but quite frankly...I'm tired of all these lazy fat a--es thinkin the rest of us..who dont sit on our a--es and eat honeybuns and smoke all day...and work every day... thinkin that we owe them something!! So to those of u who said that we sholdnt be sayin things about them.... I bet u had a honeybun and a cig. in one hand and typing with the other!!! and by the way!!! I feel sorry for those who have to take care of their fat a--es when they are disabled from being so fat... and have to have someone wipe their a-- and bathe them cause they are just too fat to reach their fat a--. Noww...if u will excuse me...I am going to go to the frig to get a SLIMFAST!!!!

Last year I broke my foot. I was embarrassed at first to even try to use one of the motorized carts because of the way people abuse them and use them when they clearly don't need them. My husband insisted so I did.
After Walmart, we went to food city to pick up a few things, and when I went to get on the cart in there, a mother and her very unruly son ran ahead of us and the mother yells to her son, "hurry up and get on it if u want it before that woman gets it!" (Speaking of me). So the kid, who clearly had no problems and just wanted to play on it races over and takes the last motorized cart. Apparently his mother wanted to keep him occupied and out of her hair while she shopped. The mother could clearly see I was on crutches with a broken foot. I had to stop my husband
From snatching the kid by the neck of his shirt and taking him off the cart. People need to be more aware of others who truly need these carts!

Oh, and by the way, I am NOT overweight.

Your husband should have snatched the mother and smacked her. There are people..especially at Walmart.... who are just plain ignorant!! I probably would have had to say something to that stupid mother...or whack her with a crutch!! Bless your heart. Hope your foot has healed and you are doin well.
