It took 12years of me harping tennessee to get on the state my ex lives. When they wouldn't I called the other state myself, with them telling me I had to go through my own state. I had to tell them I wouldn't be calling them if my state was doing their job.
Well it took long enough the judge in Utah got sick of it and now has him arrested every time he misses a payment. Not like he is paying that much.
Last check was 42.67 for two weeks.
Maybe when all said and done my kids will get what is owed to them by the time they retire.
Good luck to you .

Im sorry that your ex didnt pay as my ex didnt pay either, and i just gave up,and did it on my own, but This father has always tried to help and be there for the kids, and help them even when he didnt send the mny to state, if the kids needed the mny then he sent it to the kids, which he probley shouldnt have done, ive even sent the kids mny but didnt do me any good either. Im just wondering if the Judge who signed off on the warrant would take into consideration that the father was there an help when he was allowed to. and over 50% of the time the kids lived with him along with there mother, but she refused to report.
and maybe give him a chance now that he is even more stable,to pay the back support, but yet take care of his children at the same time? some judges have a heart and some do not,so Im not sure what to say at this moment.

Not if you go in front of judge bailey, the only heart he has is the one he owes the devil.
So good luck to you.

If you have a true warrant for you- you should be able to request a court appointed attorney. It will still cost, but not as much... call the courthouse and tell them the situation- have them set you up an appt with an attorney and take all your receipts, and proof that you have had the kids... I know that you can pay from a check card online and get your payments caught up that way without CSE taking the payments out of your paycheck. Go to https://apps.tn.gov/tcses/ to create your account and get it started. Show that you are making an effort. NEVER pay directly to the caregivers/children without keeping all receipts... I hate to even say that... but society has made everything we do a "CYA" (cover your a$$) situation...

*Thank you for the info,But the support is owed in another state and the person who owes lives in Tn, an I wouldnt think it would go in front of Bailey anyways, But what receipts that were had got destroyed. I just hope that with beginning to pay weekly that this will show the judge who hears the case that he is trying and will let him stay out of jail to contine to work and be able to pay. and that he understands that he was with his childre more then half the time. I hope that everything works out to the best interest and it all comes to an end.BUT thank you for the info,I will check into that for him.

Im sure he can pay thru any state online... Im not sure but i think that most judges will be more favorable to him if he shows effort. My ex owed 8,000 in arrears from when we split up until we actually went in front of the judge- and as long as he's paying his current payments, and paying his payments set up on his arrears- he won't go to jail. He can call the court in the state/town the warrant is from and ask them for a lawyer there... he may have to do a phone consultation and make a trip to town to meet with the lawyer and pay him... but it's worth the try. There are A LOT of parents who get behind simply b/c they try to do what's best for the children in giving straight to them... but honstly- the world just won't let that happen anymore. Good luck to him and the babies. From what you have said- he must be a good dad.

**Thank you for those kind words,he is a very good Father, and always has tried to be there for the children, but the mother wouldnt allow it when he didnt give in and go back to her.
So you honestly think that the judge will give him a chance to start paying his support on regualar basis? That would be wonderful,as he would be able to continue to work and send the money in. That has been our main concern and that has been why Ive been asking,Thank you again for your input.

call around to some of the law offices. with the children being in states custody he still my be able to get some help from legal aid or find a pro bono lawyer who would be willing to take the case but you wont find one of those in Greene county. i posted a link earlier to the state you said he was from and the child support enforcement laws. perhaps he will not need an attorney if he is paying currently. depending on how much he owes back child support you may want to get a loan or use your income tax to pay down the amount. even if the state refuses it it does show effort. my uncle is still paying child support for a child of his in Maryland. the child is 18 but he is paying back the state. the mother refused to even let him have contact with the child. however he does have a warrant for his arrest in the state of Maryland until it is all payed of, but tn will not extradite him to Maryland for child support because it is over 400 miles. but they do take his income tax every year.

IMO every single child born should have a DNA to show who the child belongs to!
My ex lived in VA and drawn a check for 18 years 198.00 a week whether or not i was work or not!
I tried to get DNA done and even tried to get the child support lowed when i was not working but they refused anything i requested!
I was suppose to have visitations but every time i went to pick them up or drop them off i would have to run her down and usually they was in KY!
I went to the jail and reported it and that i had to be back in TN to go to work in a few hours only for them to tell me if i did not give the children to her and took them back to TN with me a warrant would be issued for kidnapping so i had no choice but to wait on her! I eventually quit going because of the hassle and going to jail for being in the arrears! I lost several jobs because of this conflict!
Well after they turned 18 she told them i was not their father! Well they did a DNA and it came back they was not my kids!
So I'm shit out of luck on the kids lives i missed out on and 198K in child support i paid!

I wished i could find a lawyer to help me!
To me she should be in prison for 18 years because that is what it was like for me!
I could go on and on their is more that 20 years of pent up aggression on this subject!

** Thanks for the info and Im still looking into it, But I never said which State he was from to be honest....and Im hoping that all good things come out of this,as its been sad for everyone involved,a father who cant be there to nuture, love and raise his children,is repermended for trying to be there for them when he could be and was allowed. right now the only thing that helps is knowing that the Higher up is the only one who can have a helping hand in the situation...Thanks again for all the info.

When I commented about paying a lawyer- I meant through the courts... a court appointed attorney may be able to help him based on his income- and b/c he does have income- will charge him- but if he qualifies, it will be for MUCH LESS than just hiring a lawyer straight out. I do know it is the judge's discretion whether he would go to jail- and if he has filed his taxes, that should have already been taken out before he got them...(not sure how they decifer what to take from taxes)... but yes, as long as he is paying faithfully, and more than just current payments every week, i think the judge would be reasonable. I know my bf is ordered to pay his reg payments +$5 extra a week on arrears (based on income).... and the only time he gets threatened w/jail is when the current gets behind again...

He hasnt been able to pay in awhile, due to have being out of work, but now that he has went back,he is wanting to start paying again,I was helping him out by sending money to the children directly b/c they were stuff they wanted/needed.But the other parent said it wasnt received, but of course they would say that since it was cash. Im just hoping that I will be able to get somewhere this week to help him,and try to get things resolved as soon as possible as this has been weighing heavily on him.

I pay child support for 6 years cash but never kept receipts. my ex wife lied to the courts and said I never paid I had no proof therefore I was convicted of a class D felony and listen its 270 days in jail and 6 years probation and I have to repay 27,000 dollars of that I have already paid to begin with. the state of Arkansas sucks in these matters

This bull. I'm 13k behind in support. I'm paying 225 a month on my arrears even though I'm only court ordered to pay 25 a month. My kid is 18 now. I live in PA and AR wants me to come to court down there. I'm not understanding. I never had to go to court there but now that he is 18 and I'm actually paying now they expect me to call off work for 3 days with the possibility of being incarcerated. I've been trying to contact Arkansas child support lawyer for 43 days and still nothing. I can't afford to come down there for those days. I have rent bills and more support to pay. Which I'm also paying. So if i don't show then they issue a warrant for my arrest. Don't tell me to just go to court cause its not that easy. I just started this new job 2 months ago and they sending me to school as well. I don't have the vacation time. Is there anything I can do. I really can't make the court date without losing My job. Of that happens then now one gets child support money and I lose My home.
