Tusculum walking trail

Those are fine suggestions but for those of us who actually use the trail (like myself) have jobs, children, and yards of our own to take care of and do not have the time to invest in taking on a job that should be taken care of with tax payer funds which by the way should have been considered when planning and building the trail and the million dollar rusted bridge to begin with. I realize that a tax payer funded walking trail probably doesn't set well with most but it's there so take care of it. I go there for exercise and to get away from work and the rat race. To hell with jailers rights get their sorry asses out there and put them to work!

Yesterday the mud was scrapped up and hay bales placed to keep the mud from washing down. I love the trail

I use the trail and would not have a problem helping out to clean up. Maybe my children and I will set out on a project next week... I suppose it's common practice to not help maintain anything that is public use due to "taxpayers" money... But in my book... If you use it, help keep it clean.

Seems to me if you had time to walk the trail you would have time to help clean it up. After all that would be good exercise also.

I routinely pick up garbage along the way and take it to the trash bin but the the tree trimming task along the trail is not something that a pair of loppers and a few kids out on an afternoon project could or would want to tackle. Properly done, there will be a couple truck loads of limbs.

Garbage, brush pickup, mowing, and recycle route is all they do. That's a 40 hour week for them. Both are personal friends of mine. If you want to get technical most of the trail is on green valley (state property) which is leased to the hugest bidding farmer. The original poster didn't say where the problematic areas were.
Yes this is the point I was making. I too know both employees and they do alot plus on call when weather is bad for winter plus cutting trees out of road ways etc. I don't two people can keep their job up and the walking trail. So I agree with jail bird to help.

Why can't you get your lazy husband to do something?

I think if I used the trail and wanted to see it cleaned up I would put the word out or maybe some flyers along the trail to get users of the trail to get together for a clean up day. Im sure you could organize enough users of the trail to help, maybe even get some of the college students to help. Maybe even some lazy husbands...lol

Hey (truth) ... The problem with your fly off the handle assumption is that I happen to be a 6 feet 5 inch 215 pound male and do not have a husband. But maybe I could talk my girlfriend in to pitching in. You know it seems just when you get a good thread going on this forum some moron has to say something stupid that does not help in any way or aid in finding intelligent solutions to the problems at hand. Ok, I'm ready for the obligatory opine.

The city of Tusculum payed dearly to put up that bridge, surely they could have afforded a paint job which would not only relieve the eye sore but protect their investment.
Actually the walking trail and bridge was paid, in the most part, by grants from the state and/or federal government.

Perhaps the city could offer up sponsorships of stretches of the path like they do for some of the roads. A person could sponsor 50 yards of the path and keep it clean. Just an idea.

Just want to say those last two lame remarks were not from (me) the original Tusculum Walker. So I will graciously exit the conversation and let the fool who spoke in my place continue to make an arse of himself. I'll give you this one (boy) I just can't hang with you intellectually . Hope you get that GED you're working on.
