Why is it that Republicans have only visions of smug political superiority and delusional ignorance, particularly over the last 6 years? My hope is that the Republican Party DOES win control of Congress in 2014. Then, the Congressional Republicans would have to: Initiate some legislative action instead of simply being political obstructionists; stop blaming POTUS Obama for every little thing that offends their Republican sensibilities and DO something about the situation; Initiate and pass PERMANENT legislation for the benefit of the entire nation; Live with the Affordable Care Act--your constituents LIKE it; Address the immigration problem with more than the standard Republican xenophoic, knee-jerk response. Good luck Republicans..........win or lose in the 2014 elections. Either way your party will need it. Intelligent enough for you?

We have that vision b/c that's what we SEE. You don't think "I've got a pen & I've got a phone" reeks of both ignorance & arrogance...or how about "We've got to pass it to know what's in it"?!? The reason that Dens are seen as being stupid is b/c they turn a blind eye to their leadership's blunders. Instead of always reverting back to W or the Republicans, in general, OWN the reality that Obama is a piss-poor president & has done NO favors for your party in terms of getting elected...

I give the Democrats credit for standing behind the philosophy of their leader and principles be damned for the rest of us. They have to be given credit for their goal of transforming our country into their brand of nirvana which is to destroy the middle class and guarantee that there will never be another Republican to reside in the WH. All the while the Republican elitist have bought into it and are on the band wagon to suck the life out of this country in order to line their own pockets.

i love when right wingers blame the left for the things that its actually they themselves doing. And then you question the left's intelligence? the right has offered NOTHING but obstruction. Dont like Obamacare? FINE, where is your alternative? you dont have one that's right. Dont like tax and spend policy? FINE. Where is your alternative? Oh that's right, your representatives dont have one. Dont like not having jobs here? THEN GET YOUR HOUSE LEADER TO SIGN THE BIPARTISAN JOBS BILL. Or any of the other bills that are laying on the house floor waiting for a vote, yet Bohener and his cronies would rather try, and fail, to repeal the ACA 50 times costing millions to taxpayers. The republicans shut down the government, costing BILLIONS of dollars to the taxpayers. The republicans have pretty much hung themselves politically and if any of you on the right think you have ANY chance of gaining seats, or gaining the white house, you are sorely mistaken.

Well.....I think both parties are pretty much crooked. However, the reason republicans didn't try to offer anything else instead of Obama care for example .....they believe in capitalism not socialism. They want insurance and most everything else done in the private sector ...which is why they tried to block it and repeal it. There is really nothing to counter offer as in alternatives.......they want the government to stay out of health care period. ACA is not really panning out BTW. The odds of it making it is very slim....there have been so many laws changed and exemptions allowed for certain groups and companies...unions...etc...its going to be hard to make it stick. As in republicans gaining the senate and house....polls actually favor republicans at the moment. No one knows for sure until after election....but thought u should be aware of current polls......dems are not looking good at the moment. Of course Obama is recruiting thousands of democratic voters each day as they cross the boarder. So who knows.

I believe the alternative that the Republicans were offering but didn't get any press time on was a sort of private health care insurance comparable to a HSA that folks would bank their health insurance funds to spend as it were needed. I may be wrong on that . Your thoughts?

my thoughts are that John Bohner literally came on TV, with a manilla folder that was flat and empty, and said they had a plan right there in his hand. when asked details about that plan, he could not provide any. And as for "really" up there. No one is seeing the ACA work here in TN, because it wont work here in TN. Or any other republican state that refused to expand medicare and have any other federal money coming into the state to assist in health care, lowering premiums, and working like it was built to work. Every state that expanded medicare is seeing the ACA work, and 78% of republicans that have it are happy with it. Seems like its panning out fairly well according to those pesky things called facts and statistics .Something the right wing totally ignores these days.

Wow...an AMAZING retort by someone who usually has SOMETHING to say about EVERYTHING, whether she knows WTF she's talking about or not. I bet you said that same statement when people said Obama would beat McCain and Romney too huh.
