Did the hiv give you aids? Maybe, but I doubt we would be lucky or burdened if they did or didn't close the doors. That place ain't hurtin nobody. People hurt themselves.. and others, sometimes. They lost business, a lot. Does that mean we are lucky to have the hype? No just a new location. I'm old school. If I had to choose, it would be the old valley. Heck we ain't had many places to go but the hype is a joke. Nasty

I enjoyed my time at the Valley years ago. I didn't welcome all the drama though. I didn't take drugs. I didn't go and get so trashed I couldn't walk. If you go looking for trouble you're gonna find it whether it be at the Valley, Hyperion or church.

Anybody should have known better to let a black man, no matter how much money his daddys got, to open an run a bar in a predominately white town. Peteys money is the only reason it has stayed open this long.

That was a stupid comment. The Valley years ago stayed packed Thursday, Friday and Saturday (with white people) and a "black man" owned it then.

There's several reasons why it's not doing good these days.
1. No cover at the Hyp, Brandon refuses to not charge a cover.
2. No Jobs. Times are hard.
3. The Hyp has the free beer thing.
4. The Hyp has an outside area.
5. The Hyp is gay friendly, the Valley has not caught up with the gay times yet.
6. I think Brandon is just tired of it and he's just let it run down.
7. Everybody is addicted to drugs. They pass out in cars before they get to a club.
